This is an excellent video on a litte-known subject that was nevertheless very important in the evolution of frontier warfare. Beautiful work, great explanation of artifacts, superb history and very well done. As a maker of videos, I can predict that viewers will appreciate all the work, writing and planning that went into this great living history. Kurt House, Director, WWHA

I think i would have carried at least a brace of those pistols & on a horse you could have a pair of pommel holsters, then you could carry 4 revolvers with you , two on the saddle and two on your person . When you got to 1851 the colt Navy 36 revolvers you could get extra cylinders and carry them in leather pouches on your pistol belt or in your pockets. You could swap out an empty cylinder with a loaded one a whole lot faster that loading an empty cylinder in a fight & when your life is on the line it’s worth the extra expense & weight.

There were also double barreled rifles in an over/under configuration and when you fired the first barrel you then rotated it 180 degrees and brought the second barrel into battery.

Before the Spaniards arrived. Did the Indians run after their opponents?

Before the horse, Indians traveled on foot or by water. All villages were located on rivers or creeks.
