I'm eight years late but I'm crying at how beautiful this is. Inspired me to go mess around with my MicroKorgS after a crappy creative block. Thank you.
You might not believe it but this video is the main reason I just got a microkorg. I'm really big into that ambient guitar manipulation stuff. Places/soundscapes where dreams are portrayed.
hey you know if you click the formant hold button while you're singing/using the mic you can 'sample' whatever the mic input is so that you dont have to keep talking into it. then you can just use the keys. this is how the vocoder patches that don't require input work. cheers!
after years of trying to find what's right and saving money I finally am getting one of these. the thing that I always doubted was people's cynicism towards the vocoder on the machine. Saying things like "it isn't good enough to compare to present day standards" etc etc. You have proved that with creativity, something amazing can emerge from this awesome piece of hardware. Can't wait to get mine.
Really awesome stuff man. I really like how you are using different things to explore sound as a whole thing rather than sticking to preset or conventional ways of music making. This and your other tutorial video really inspired me. I just ordered a microkorg and I am eagerly awaiting its arrival in the mail. Your tutorials really helped, and I will be checking out your website for sure.
thank you! It went from 5 to 7 pretty naturally. Thats cool you can hear it. It seems like people have a gift for hearing samples, its like perfect pitch in the sample world : )
wtf, holy crap, I totally made that up, then I checked out your bandcamp and your name is actually RICHARD! Sprinkler is a great track man! Will check out the rest!
Hey Richard!! What an amazing way to integrate guitar, voice and synth! I'm thinking about getting a microkorg and this example could be a way for me to integrate my music. Thanks for the tutorial as well!
this is what panda bear does!!! kinda i have been searching and searching on how he gets his guitar sounds! and u showed me how he does what he does thanks alot bro!!!

wow, i was just thinking about buying a microkorg and checking some vids. But as a guitar player, maybe it's a bit strange. You show me again all is allowed, thanks. i love your creativity, keep it up!!
I'm getting one of these and it's giving me some ideas... I really like your music, I went to check it out and I love the planet that you're from :) kisses from France
I'm picking up a microkorg today sully because I saw this video. I'm wanting to use bass through it instead of guitar. But, I would like to split the signal to run one to the Korg and one to my amp. Would that be possible by running out of one of my pedals to the synth? Or would I have to get a line splitter. My pedals are a Boss DD-3, Darkglass B7K Ultra and Boss TU2 tuner.
I could look into it but that might be a wee bit pricey, I'll try to find the lowest deal around for that. that should work nice, you can get some really trippy sounds with that. I would recommend getting an expression pedal as well to control the lfo speed.
Amazing! Now do you think it would be possible to use the vocoder on an existing (already recorder as a wav or tiff file) audio vocal track by using the MicroKorg audio input?
Dude Richard! It's ALex from the old days in north county! I thought that was your face! I love finding old friends doing dope shit on UA-cam!WTF! Miss you bro. ANd miss those jams we used to do with you on bass and guitar and me bangin drums! I was actually looking for DOrian concept and I here I am! BTW this is dope as usual!!!
Alex, that was so fun! Hit me up man so we can hang out again, hope your still making those amazing beats! I still have your cd, You got me into making beats! fruityloops 3
@bloomypetal first of all compliment for what u are doing, u are very talented just keep improving and u will go far. i have a question and a request, the question is if i can connect the microcorg to the audio in of my hi-fi system with a jack cable or i have to buy same specific amplifier? and the request is if u can do a very beginner microcorg tutorial. thanks in advance dude, keep it up!!!

thanks, ya its the wet signal running through the low pass filter and delay. The filters are what really make it trippy

+patsmalling I guess he can't play the guitar and the keys at the same time.
A whole new level of shoe gazing.

The beginning is reminiscent of back to the future. I expected a speaker to explode when you started playing.
