    I've said it so many times no other channel gets you more involved in a Ocean crossing than you two !
    It's my favourite episodes when you two are actually doing distance.

    I want to thank you for a wonderful journey and adventure you have shared with us. Your channel and SV Zatara are my favorite channels. No cursing, no naked butt shots or using a thumbnail of a scantily dresses female. Just good clean adventure with top quality videos.
    It’s been a pleasure and a joy to follow along. I am on a tight budget or I would be a patron. So the best I can do to support you both is comment and share your videos.
    I look forward to seeing what comes next, I don’t imagine your feet on dry land long, maybe some Arctic sailing??? It will be nice for you to see family and friends again I am sure.
    Again, thank you for sharing your world with us. You have become a fixture in my world. Strangers that feel like family! Keep being you, your awesome!

    I did that exact trip last May, as crew. We managed to get through ok although boats much bigger and smaller than ours got beat up badly leaving just before or just after us (one was dismasted, another suffered a broken boom in the middle and others blew out sails) so your words about the weather in the North Atlantic weren't lost on me. We only lost a spinnaker halyard and had to struggle a bit to get it out of the water at nearly 10 knots boat speed and then back into the boat and then go up the mast to install a new halyard. We did chicken out and kept close to the Azores High to the south and let much of the bigger lows pass us by to the North including the remnants of Tropical Storm Alex. It meant we had a 500 mile tack north, which wasn't much fun watching our distance to target not move for two days but we made good time and got there in 17 days overall. Some of those waves were monstrous and like you we saw multiple boats together a couple of times in the middle of nowhere. Watching you leave St. George's harbour brought back all of the memories as we did the exact same heading. We started running into whales and dolphins as we approached the Azores so I'm keen to see your next video. Fair winds!

      @stephenburnage7687 Рік тому

      I plan on doing the same passage in another year. Read about Alex and was wondering how many boats got caught up in that, offshore. I am hoping that if we undertake the trip earlier in the season, such as May or June, the risk conditions should be a little easier. Reasonable conclusion?

    Greetings. My name is Vince. I have never sailed and yet have dreamed of ocean sailing for many years. Your films only heighten my desire to take the plunge, if you can forgive the pun, and join a sailing club before committing myself to even sailing across the English Channel to France. Thank you for your inspiration and sharing the minutiae and opening my eyes to what I must learn. Kindest regards.

    Of all the cruising couple's on UA-cam, I think you two deserve the blue water cruising medal, like Lin and Larry Pardey were awarded.
    I say that because, as I sit here on my 25 ton 50 ft steel schooner, I can't even imagine the places you have conquered on 37 ft.
    The only major difference was that the Pardey's were engineless.
    In addition, you have not used extra crew, as most of the other cruising couples have. I acknowledge that some of the others have travelled farther and been cruising longer. Travel safely, and enjoy my favorite, a Yorkshire bitters upon arrival.
    Sincere regards, Billy

    Matt/Amy- you’ll be hard pressed to find someone that watches more sailing/boating UA-cam channels than me. I mentioned to you once you’re among the top cinematographers in boating UA-cam channels. For me, I’m very comfortable rating you #1 for videography, cinematography, and editing amongst all boating channels. If you ever hang up sailing (I hope you don’t) you should start a digital media company. You have a tremendous portfolio and truly talented in digital storytelling. Cheers from Ed in Canada.

    Another mesmerising and inspiring video. When you are home in the UK you must explore approaching the appropriate media to convert your wonderful story into a documentary or series. I will be so sad when it’s over and can’t wait until your head off to the North after your well-earned rest and refurbishment. I have followed you from the start and have absolutely loved every episode. Beautiful story, beautiful couple and beautiful boat. Truly beautiful. Thank you from Blairgowrie, Victoria, Australia.

    It has always amazed me how the camera does not capture the sea state or boat movement. Many years ago when I was young and keen I took my Contessa 26 from the UK to the Med. Pre digital camara days but I took rolls of film of some very lumpy weather in the Mddle of Biscay. Back home weeks later after leaving my little boat in the safe confines of Mahon Harbour I was so disppointed. My stories of mountainous seas and violent movement fell on deaf ears. Yeah, yeah, doesn't look that bad to was the common attitude. In my seventies now and almost retired from sailing, just the odd day sail with friends, I envy and admire you both. I still dream of crossing an ocean but sadly it will only ever be a dream now. Bon Voyage🙃. Bet the camera did not catch that one.
