The 51-yr old Indian Coffee House in Delhi's Connaught Place is known to serve the tastiest and cheapest coffee in town which costs you ₹36 only. Underrated fact about the ICH is that the ones who served you and those who cooked those for you are actually the owners of the place. Thanks to AK Gopalan, the Indian Coffee House is a bold experiment where ownership was handed over to the workers and 70 years down the line, with branches all over India despite no crorepati backing, I'd argue that it's a success. Those who're registered with the ICH workers' co-op earn more than workers at similar hotels in the same city. People criticise the ICH for failing to keep pace with the time but imo their USP is their old world charm and they shouldn't let go of it for the sake of modernity.
I've had better coffees at ICHs around Kerala than I've had in air conditioned cafes with glass doors and Instaworthy ambiences.

This place has become really bad now. The waiters are rude and not interested in working. We waited 15 minutes just for them to pick up dirty plates, another half an hour just to place an order and to be honest it's a breeding ground for diseases. I would say be very careful now
