I was there opening night. I remember seeing Rip Torn, Ann Miller, and Roddy McDowall riding in. Roddy was filming us filming him. I wish the hotel was still there. We still call that area the Debbie Reynolds Hotel. And I still miss Lindsey Rappaport Buchanan. 😢

Tod. Thank you for sharing your memories and video of your mom. I was so fortunate to have met her several times at your sister’s house, in the casino and around town and she was truly special. There are no words to really describe how amazing she was. When we spoke, you felt that she was as interested in you as you were with her. My mother died a few years ago and I know how difficult that is for me to look at pictures of her and her belongings so I cannot imagine how emotional putting together these videos is for you. Thank you so much. You are bringing so much enjoyment to so many people who loved her. Bob

Debbie was one of the greats. I got her autograph in 2000s when she did her show at casino in Washington state. Such a talent and kind woman. ❤

My parents took me to this museum when I was a wee little thing, so I really don't have any recollection of it, but they LOVED it. Thank you VERY much for posting this. What an amazing museum! It runs circles around what The Academy calls their quote on quote "museum."

I was fortunate enough to tour the museum back in the 90's on a Thanksgiving day. It blew me away. Thanks for sharing this - I feel like I just saw my own brain dump! You mother was an amazing woman who shared her dream with the world. I remember the Oz costumes and masks on display as well as some of the older chariots from BenHur. The Marilyn costumes and jewelry were amazing to see. The Debbie Reynolds collection would have been enough but she had pieces of everything. She loved her fans and it was obvious that her fans LOVED her!

This was wonderful! Wish this museum had made it. Such important history in the world of film. I was lucky enough to see Debbie in the Molly Brown tour and in concert where I got to meet her after which thanks to my friends was the best birthday surprise ever! Unforgettable.
    Thanks Todd and Cat!✌️💖

I told my Mother who loved your Mother since 2 weeks with love came out... about the hotel and the concert there and she went at the end of 1993. My dad asked her out in 1952 because mom looked like Debbie Reynolds.. He was in love with your Mother . My mom was graduating from high school the year singing in the rain came out in '52. . so my dad is dating mom, and her brother is having a baby in early 1954, and they ask mom what to name her baby and if it were a girl she and my dad said name her Debbie in early 1954. Decades later Debbie married and Eddie in 1977 and her sister is exactly Carrie's age to the month later married a guy with the last name Fisher. I think there are no coincidences. Thanks for your videos, i love them.

What a great tribute to Debbie and her museum. Went many times to visit the museum, saw stage Debbie’s show and it was an amazing experience. She even took the time to sit down and sign my “The Singing Nun” movie memorabilia. She is greatly appreciated and missed! Thanks for posting!

The museum was the most magnificent experience of the magic of movies I’d ever seen! Todd your description of what the “expert” proposed was absolutely so uninspired wasn’t it? I’m thrilled I lived there at the time. I’m thrilled I got to see it. I hope you’ll reignite that somehow. It was truly spectacular!! Debbie was brilliant having such foresight. I’m only 6 minutes into this episode and I just had to gush a little about how much I LOVED the museum!

When I was a student at Cal Arts, Debbie Reynolds attended a screening of Molly Brown. She was supposed to leave afterwards. However, instead of that, she joined us in the cafeteria where she told stories and answered questions for over an hour. She was genuine, warm, personable and, while no question a movie star, had none of the phoniness and ego all too common in show business. I'll never forget that spring afternoon.

My mother and I visited Debbie's casino before the museum. Sorry we never returned to see that but we enjoyed the casino and was fascinated that she was selling her regular clothes in the gift shop. We were staying at the small hotel across from her casino. I cannot remember the name but it didn't have any casino machines or tables. Just a small hotel. What is her casino called now and do you know if that small hotel is still across the street? Thank you for sharing your videos.
