Air or helium in balloons? How long will they last? Can you blow up night before event? Thank you

Just an air bump used to blow up balloons, they will last for awhile. I blew mine up the night before, but you can really blow them up 3 days before and keep them in plastic trash bags so they want lose their color or deflate.

How soon ahead can you blow up the balloons

I have 2-3 days prior to events and stored in a cool place in trash bags so they want deflate.
