Honestly I love the wedge engine plate I'm going to just buy one because I'm to lazy to fab my own. I love the way it sits slated forward also look like a ok amount of room from the tank to the fram. I had a buddy mount his tank on the top part of the neck.
I just put a 208cc Power fist in my Baja dirt bug Mini bike, my guess is it’s going to have plenty enough power for me. I can’t wait to ride this spring!!
Nice conversion man. I'm pretty sure you got the right bolts in the kit. You're engine is just uncommon. I'm pretty sure it's meant for a predator 212. Anyways great job that thing gonna be a beast
I didn't use the aluminum plate to mount my 212. I just used the steel riser plate . No drilling . Everything went together just fine . I couldn't fit it in with the gas tank on but I had a better tank to use . Stage one kit with new jet and air filter plus a header pipe for frame clearance . Wheelie king . Even with the governor and only a MAX TORQUE centrifugal clutch it still wants to wheelie . The kids crash it if they're not paying attention . 😂🤣😂🤣🤷🏼♂️ . Teaches them to pay attention . I used a monster moto 1000 electric minibike as a donor frame . Same frame as the 80 cc and105cc bike . Same size 35 chain and rear sprocket too . Easy easy easy .
I just put the 212 Predator motor on my turtle bug. That carburetor mod. Totally unnecessary for this motorcycle unless you're going to try to do drag racing or something like that. Just ripping around the neighborhood leave the stock exhaust on do you leave the stock carburetor on just put the motor on. The only thing I would probably suggest is going with the 420 clutch and chain and we are sprocket because it doesn't stretch is Majin or last much longer. But the wheelbase on these bikes that Doodlebug and that Moto whatever you got is so short. This motor is just got crazy power. If I'm just cruising along and hit a speed bump 20 miles an hour and I hit the throttle it's pulling a goddamn wheelie. The only thing I recommend put the motor in. Go with the 35 chain. Because the back sprocket you don't have to change it. But eventually I was just going with the 420. Much thicker strong a chain. And mechanical brake. The ones that are on it a totally unsuited for this motor. So my advice get the motor mad torque clutch bring gopowersports and the to hydraulic brake. That bolts right on. Can I go brake 212 motor mad torque clutch that's it 2 + everybody in the neighborhood says that this thing is quieter than my lawn mower. If you want to cruise around you don't want something wicked loud that pisses everybody off. And it's not even worth it you don't get that much more out of it tiered especially on the little Doodlebug or that Motovox thing. Stock Predator 212 mad torque clutch and hydraulic brake gopowersports can't go wrong. If you think you need more power after that then go for that carburetor deal I think it's unnecessary on this motorcycle mine is crazy fast more than enough I weigh 350 pounds and it says rip outs. So I think the pipe in the carburetor thing just bulshit you don't need it it's crazy fast without it I unless you looking for a drag mini get that shit but I mean the thing pulls wheelies like you wouldn't even believe 20 miles an hour or pop right up. even without the carburetor and everything I think this motor is too big for this bike. I said it cuz it will just bang wheelies like why are cruising at 20 miles an hour if you're not paying attention this little mini bike will throw you off it. That's why we named the mine giddy up
there is a little keeper you can get , it's actually called a choke hold for your choke lever!!!! don't know how bad shipping would be to your neck of the woods. i also have this mini bike and want to do exactly what you did. nice work mate, cheers...
Hey man I’ve been searching for a adapter plate for my 80cc. Where can I buy that one from? I’ve looked and found similar ones but nothing close to the one you at using
Hi so that engine plate makes it were you do not have to drill new bolt holes in them engine plate in the frame and lets you line up the sprockets cool were did you buy it from please thanks you.
Hey, awesome video! Im working on a older buggy, the dude i bought it off of swapped a crap snowblower engine onto it. Runs like crap and has a 7/8' crankshaft. Gonna sell it to someone and buy this power fist 6.5hp engine. I was recommended to it on a forum and was just wondering, having the engine for a few years now, have you ran into any issues?
Why did you buy an engine plate? I've built 3 of these bikes on the older style dirt bug frames and I just drilled the plate thats on the bike. Clearance issues?
@@IMRgarage Yeah, I've been watching other mini bike builds that use the monster moto. Looks like a pain in the butt to make the engine fit. I have done 3 engine swaps on the dirt bug / doodlebug (the older red ones). The frame is much straighter and has more room. You just unbolt the old engine, put the new engine in, mark your holes with a marker and drill the stock base plate. The only part I have to buy to mod these bikes is a new 3/4 inch clutch. Congats on making it fit and nice video.
Yeah my buddy did one of those old doodle bikes and they just drilled new holes in the lower plate . The monster moto you can fit the 212 but stuff hits all over . Even with the mounting plate it is supper close all over , the top of the gas tank I have issues with . I’m going to make a new gas tank maybe and move the filler over but honestly I fill the tank once every year lol.
I’m actually going to extend the bike 2” I think this winter as all it wants to do is cat walk and it’s hard to control . But lean forward and she moves ha
@@IMRgarage I wouldn't try to extend the frame. The torque these bikes have and the cat walking is all the fun. If you cut/weld the frame it could be less structurally sound. If you don't want to cat walk then add some bolt on wheelies bars.

That engine is sold at northern tool in the states. branded as POWERHORSE. solid engine

I spent 2 hrs at Canadian tire looking for the right bolt to go in the crank still haven’t found one
5/16-24 Fine thread bolt
hey great video!!! i am from ottawa canada and i was wondering where abouts did you get the ad ons for the engine?
I got it from place called hot rod mini bike I can find the link ! I’m in Russell Ontario
@@IMRgarage wicked!! that would be great!! the engines are on sale again for $128 bucks and i am going to put it on a moto after this weekend.
Could u tell me is there supposed to be a spring in the throttle to snap back ?
Where can i buy the filter kit? I just bought the 208 powerfist motor but cant find a filter kit there allfor the predator motor
Hey, bud is looking to do the same thing I got the same bike can tell me where you got to get the kit, please.....
Did you ever test the top speed of it I just bought a 8hp motor and was hoping to get it going anything around 30
U may go 50 if u can get it perfect
Don’t you need a bolt in the middle of the clutch?
Hey man I’ve been searching for a adapter plate for my 80cc. Where can I buy that one from? I’ve looked and found similar ones but nothing close to the one you at using
Hey where did you get the engine plate ?
Thanks
Sick
Would this fit for the syx 125cc pit bike for a swap?!
What the heck is a “Throllel”?
Hi so that engine plate makes it were you do not have to drill new bolt holes in them engine plate in the frame and lets you line up the sprockets cool were did you buy it from please thanks you.
It also tilts the engine up so it clears the frame rails but people have installed it with no engine plate
What exhaust did you put on the upgraded engine and will it fit a predator 212cc?
is the clutch a 1 inch bire and is it a normal clutch or is it reversable?
Bryan Nelson 3/4 inch one way
Where can i get all these parts?
Hey where do you get that throttle linkage
Any chance you can provide part #'s for the air filter/stack and the exhaust?? I'm installing the same engine in my mini bike and would love to mod!
Jon Ouimette I got it off of mini hot rod site

They also make a 420cc. That might work better for you
Power fist has a 212 motor at Princess on clearnance
what is the purpose of the second fitting on top of the gas tank?
It’s Emissions junk . I guess pulls the hydro carbons off the fuel and back into the intake !
Where did you get the engine plate from? Thanks.
Hotrod mini bikes but I think there out of business :(
What kit did you get???
