  • At this video coach Vas is coaching Alex on a clay court. Vas reminds Alex to maintain the correct position and balance, hold the racket up in front of the body, take the final step forward, control the body, stay low and drive power from the legs, avoid looking at the ball where the ball goes to after hitting. The coach teaches Alex to utilize various vocal variations to enhance his performance. Firstly, to groan loudly, secondly, to use a loud "heeee," and thirdly, to exhale strongly and loudly to help awaken the player when fatigue sets in.

I have a 8 year old who has been training with our tennis coach named Alex for last 5 years since he was 3 and his style of teaching is exactly the same as your coach!😊. Your son is way more focused and eager to learn though compared to my 8 year old 😀

I know. All the kids are different. It all comes down how they perform on competitions at the end. And if they like tennis, it will get better and better.

What's great is how well the kid uses hid body and body rotation to hit the ball and not his arms.

What rackets do you recommend for intermediate level 12-14 yr olds?

@ Vasileios Psyrras : I appreciate as a coach your methology, how you teach Alex (and you are doing a very good job), but why do today´s coaches always develop this "little screamers" ? Breaching is important, I know this well, I did fighting-sports, when I was youn, but it is nerving to have all this screamers on tennis-courts. Is it about breaching or more about disturbing the opponent ? When I´m right informed, screaming after the ball left the racket, is by rules forbidden...most screamers don´t care about it ?!
