- The family of a Chicago woman missing in the Bahamas says they are “deeply concerned” for the safety of the 41-year-old, who traveled to the islands for a yoga retreat. Taylor Casey was last seen on June 19 around Paradise Island, a small resort enclave just off the shore of the island of New Providence, the Royal Bahamas Police Force said.

The Bahamas are not part of the United States. Is your point that Black people are missing in the US and abroad? It's more disturbing that Black US citizens are vanishing without a trace in the states and can't be found by our government officials. Yet, we expect officials outside of the US to locate missing US citizens. I'm disappointed in those female officials in the Bahamas. They're behaving robotic and unempathetic towards the family.
Keep in mind that all three Black men were missing in predominately White states.

I get it but so many women doing these friend’s, family flake out on them ,cancel at the last minute, they get tired of going with people who are broke and them having pay for everything. I think many feel less hassles and knowing they love traveling and just goes alone. It seems this woman was one of them who had traveled alone many times ,even to the Bahamas,always left info for her family but this time everything turned tragic . Who ever did this to her took her phone and threw it in the ocean, took her and harmed her maybe even after that. She seemed to come from a very loving family who right away when they , heard nothing from her starting doing interviews,flew to the Bahamas quickly and got authorities involved , them making. Statement quickly on the news . No matter what happened to her they want closure,to find her no matter how what happened to her t take her home.

She was either targeted by the Ashram (Possible Front For Sex Trafficking) or, she met someone from the island, who she thought she was safe with and, they turned out to be a predator! Her phone in the water is to throw things off. And, I feel the Bahamas authorities along with this Resort are linked to her disappearance in some sort of way. The natives had nothing to do with this. People like her don't go missing at the hands of the native people. Look closely at where she was staying. If a Bahamian had done this, that phone wouldn't have been found in the ocean.

A tourist missing is definitely not the norm in the Bahamas. Her phone found in the waters rule out that she went for a swim as a sound person does not swim with their phone at night (she was last sited at 11:30pm). Now her passport being missing is a mystery. Did she leave to travel elsewhere? Why would anyone take her passport unless she carried it around in her bag. She believed in Christ as she had a Bible. But the kind of chanting these people do at the retreat would make many Christians very wary to join in as they open doorways for evil spirits it is commonly believed. I'm oblivious as to why it has no security guards and surveillance cameras as having them is a major thing for businesses, resorts/hotels, and private homeowners throughout the Bahamas . How can you let people sleep in an isolated area outside in tents without security? I pray the police are given new leads and that this won't end horribly. Taylor looks like an awesome person in her pics. I pray for continued strength for her mom and friends.

@deborahwa2015 In another interview her mother said she is a church youth leader. As a Christian I have warned so many about yoga. There are many testimonies from people who were very high up in the world of yoga that have since become Christians & they describe in detail that regardless of the mainstream influence of yoga for monetary gain true yoga practitioners know their saying is “There is no yoga without buddha & no buddha without yoga”. Even if it starts out looking benign, the deeper one gets into it the more obvious that it’s a religious experience that is not inline with Christianity. I imagine if she was a true believer she would have gotten very uncomfortable in this type of yoga retreat setting. A lot of Christians mistake yoga for harmless stretches & end up opening themselves up to “other” sprits. I hope her family gets the answers they need soon.

Somebody at the retreat knows something. I could be wrong. But I believe someone from the retreat is responsible for her. It's really a cult like environment. And Taylor probably trusted someone from the retreat. Everyone should be investigated at the retreat. All participants should be questioned and fingerprinted. DNA samples are also needed. The Bahamas police department is dragging its feet. I'm not sure if they are very interested in solving the case.

@@creolelady182 Agreed, I think what happened-- folks are acting like it would be odd for her to take a walk on beach- you feel like "it's safe" as a tourist; then someone-- a man abducted her and probably killed her.
The ashram may have mishandled aftermath- but it's a very basic place- few staff, and very simple, if someone didn't show up for class they did at least initially the right thing- call the parent and hopefully police. But police there are not fully staffed and with fancy equiptment like this isnt' CSI folks.
I read on the website of this retreat that shared bathrooms are minutes away for people who stay in the tents. Moving forward, this yoga place really needs to put up surveillance cameras for the safety of their PAYING guests and employees.

On the retreat website,it states that tents are the cheapest accommodation. Washrooms in separate building, and no security, they now say on the retreat. Scary getting up in the night to go to a building with washrooms.

News Outlet please stop. The advisory has nothing to do with the young lady missing from a Spa retreat on a private Island. She/He was on the island from June 3rd, which means she was at the retreat 16 days before the incident. Where is the cameras from the retreat? Did she go to a blind retreat. If you have a client on your private compound you should know when they arrive and leave. Stop this Bahamas shenanigans like America would have done better.

odd how the mother creates the narrative that she's not getting sufficient cooperation from natives, but yet she refuses to speak to local media in The Bahamas, only US media.
Perhaps the Bahamian media don't want to cover the story... they have a lot to lose as there are travel advisories for Nassau. As a cruiser, I keep up with travel advisories. A lot of people would not get off the ship in Nassau, however, they just put in a very nice new infrastructure at the port there, and I would get off the ship without too much concern, and I think it is good for the Bahamas. But if you go outside those confines, you may run into police with guns, machine guns at the end of the main street where the marina is at for personal boats (I have traveled thru there many times on a personal sportcruiser boat and stayed overnight at the marina). There has been more crime in Nassau, so cruisers are encouraged to only stay in that area unless they have a cruse excursion or reputable excursion company, and I would imagine reputable resorts there would be ok for the tourists that fly in. The Bahamian people are wonderful people, but there are bad actors in just about any group of people, no matter the country.
Maybe the Bahamas media want to state the facts about Taylor, not the narrative.

The State Department cautioned Americans not to travel to the Bahamas several months ago because of high levels of crime. If they found her tent empty, there is a strong chance she is no longer alive. Hopefully, they do find her alive and safe.

Some say it was a local, some say not a local. The phone in the ocean proves nothing either way. Missing passport is suspicious. Someone wanting to leave the island would want one if they couldn't qualify or afford one. There's no evidence either way. Many places outside of the U.S. you need to travel in groups and travel companies and stay in resorts. The Bahamas have had cases of missing women and in Mexico a woman was killed and we still do not know why? I could go on and list experiences like this but I won't. What a shame! The police did not comment on this video in person or address it.

My guess, against the insistence of some of these comments, is that she was targeted for her belongings by poor natives who singled her out as a foreigner with money. Think "The Serpent"

There is a pattern going on with a few yoga studios .These particular studios take to the road and people of come up missing ..On remote islands..Last year in 2023 a female who looks to be Fillapino also went on a retreat m..And she came up missing ..That yoga studio was under scrutiny bye the public ..And the victims family .. Forcing one of there own to Quit and go into hiding ..
