Hey Man! Thanks for such kind words! We appreciate it!
Also, let's all marvel at the technical know-how that went into this. The tracking of all those little green screens so the villains appeared properly in their portraits in the background -- *chef's kiss* PattyCake is Layne and Tony, with some help from Kathy. They hire in performers, camera operators, makeup artists, sometimes costume help (Tony makes them), and anything special they need for a shoot. Oh, and they write all the songs, too.
I've never run into Pattycake before, but this was incredible! Thank you so much for reacting to it! :D

For a different Pattycake video I’d recommend “Girls like these” and the BTS for it (it’s available on UA-cam). Tony and Layne are so creative and create masterpieces.
Missed the premiere because life got in the way, but I am glad I went back and watched it later. Pattycake is totally unbelievable and never disappoints. The only question that remains...is Dylan now a villain? Enquiring minds want to know!

Tough love is a video in series 1 of Villains Lair.
What Goes Around Comes Around is season 1 episode 1 of the series. I think Tough Love is episode 2. Or close to it.
The series has so many awesome episodes. And you should definitely do them in order as it is an on going story.

I'm so glad you did this one. It's not a part of the series and was just released 2 years ago but definitely could be.
The characters are more like the animated characters.
Their makeup artist Rick Underwood is fantastic.
By the way.... Pattycake is owned by both Tony and Layne.
They both do the screenwriting and write the music and songs and production.
Tony makes all the costumes. Directing, puppeteering and other behind the scenes stuff like that. Layne is the camera guy, editing, and other things like that.
These 2 have been doing this since 2016 right before Tony left to go behind the scenes.
And yes. They rent out their studio to other artists as well.

Geoff Castellucci just dropped don’t mess around with Jim and you are going to die when you see it first of all there’s five of them they all look OMG and sings like an angel. You have to cover it immediately.

Those are definitely the live action versions of these characters; I'm pretty sure that Captain Hook is meant to be Dustin Hoffman's from Hook, and the Cruella DeVil is the Glenn Close version.
Yeah, and Evil Queen is definitely Lana Parilla's Evil Queen from Once Upon a Time. The character designs are amazing.
Ok, so, first off...Pattycake are basically two people. Layne Stein and Tony Wakim. All music and lyrics are done by them. All costumes are done by Tony. Everything is done by the two of them, except for the people they hire for the characters (Gaston in this is the same guy who plays Gaston in all their Villains Lair stuff...in fact I believe they get the same actors all the way through if/when they can) or for Makeup.
Pattycake have a studio (the same place where VoicePlay film...yes, almost all VP videos are filmed at Pattycake) just outside Orlando...actually, it's in the shopping mall that VP sometimes film in...LOL
There are three types of Pattycake videos - their covers (some are FANTASTIC but none are as good as their originals) which are usually Unexpected Musicals like "Will of Oz", "The Grande Mermaid" and "Beauty and the Bieber"; their Villains Lair series (absolute bangers every single one but "Born Bad" and "That's All" are my favourites); and their other original songs like their Disney Evolutions and the Princess Academy. Honestly, pick any song...you really can't go wrong! LOL

I’m glad you realized that these are all live action villains. The Villains Lair series is all villains from animation.
You mentioned the costumes. Tony does almost all their costumes. You also mentioned how well the special effects were done. Here’s something that never occurred to me before they told us about it - the fireball was added in post. But how did they get the light from it to reflect correctly on the actress? (Hint - it wasn’t done in post. )
Layne always likes to challenge himself with learning some new skill with each video. For this one it was something I would have just accepted without even questioning how they did it. It’s easy to green screen the portrait areas and tuck in a video when it’s head on. But how do you do that when the prospective of the moving portrait is at an angle?
Pattycake’s monthly zoom chats are fun AND informative and well worth the Patreon cost. Some months (actually most months) you may get a Tony rant, but mostly you get tales of them working on videos. Like a litany of injuries incurred setting up their current Villians Lair set. (Imagine Layne pushing Tony chest first into a barbed wire fence- and that wasn’t the worst injury!). Or like tales of Tony attaching thousands of Swarovski crystals on Cinderella’s outer skirt.
I loved the piano pick up in the wilderness story too.

3 months ago Pattycake got a contract with the company that creates the video game Genshin Impact.
They had to create a new video and song for their newest version of the game featuring 3 of the villains.

My friend from my days at Disney Michelle K. is the evil queen. Everyone involved with Patty Cake is truly amazing!
The Unexpected Musicals are great early videos telling a story with one singer's songs like SNOW SPEARS AND THE SEVEN DWARFS- Britney Spears several of those to choose from. Patty Cake Productions is still just Tony and Layne doing their wonderfully talented things.
