I love your pottery and watching you work but I also love the snowy landscape photos you included. So peaceful. I will come back to watch often. Thank you.
This pot is so beautiful. It is clear that you know exactly how your clay and glazes interact for the best results. I would also like to try this technique, I think. I normally use a white stoneware and carve textures for breaking glazes, but I was recently given several kilograms of a darker, groggy clay with a fair amount of iron in it. I think using contrasting slips like this might give me some lovely results. Thank you for sharing!
I love how these techniques you use are simple in some ways, complex and layered in other ways, rustic in feel but sophisticated overall - all at the same time! Very balanced, but intriguing. :)
The outcome is amazing.. i love your job i didn't know you can apply slip on bisque and directly glaze it.. i'll try a tiny piece and see if that tecnique is suitable for the tipe of clay and glaze i use..thanks for being such an ispiration
you apply underglaze on leatherhard and slib on biscuit fired pot, did I understand that right? I'm a MEGA beginner, so I would think that slib on a baked pot would cause cracks? am I wrong? (apparently, because your pot came out absolutely gorgeous! 🙂) supernice work!!! tx for the video!
Thank you. Yes, I applied underglaze on a leather-hard pot and slip on a bisque-fired pot. I recommend applying glaze before the slip dries completely to prevent cracks.
What recipe you use for the white slip? I never see slip staying on bisque clay usually it comes off on glazing firing, even before that. Do you mind to share the slip recipe for us? Thanks I love your demos and your pottery.
Thank you! Please wait for the upcoming video that I’m preparing on white slip. I’ve also made videos showing how I apply slips. Please take a look at them; I hope they will be helpful. ua-cam.com/video/FQ1bRvUWg58/v-deo.htmlsi=EkPGZVw0g6wFiX77 ua-cam.com/video/N_xM2BlkE4k/v-deo.htmlsi=lZ85Osq0sLSn9lqU

OOO I love how the blue turned out 😍 such a beautiful contrast ❤ What type is the clay? Is it an earthenware like Terracotta? Always so much joy watching 🙏
Thank you so much! It’s not terracotta, but I mix 2type of clays. I was showing how I make the clay in the video. Please take a look. ua-cam.com/video/CbFCr-QlpSQ/v-deo.html
Dear Watajima San, sorry that i didn`t comment your last videos. I had so much family stuff to do but i am always enjoying your viedeos! Thank you again for the great picutures. I really didn`t think there would be so much snow at your mountains. Must be very cold in your workshop! So hopefully it`s better by now! 🙂 See you soon....

I’ve always loved Japanese pottery. Your works inspires me greatly.
Thank you so much! I also think that there are unique and traditional ceramics in various parts of Japan, which is very fascinating.

These are lovely. I am curious about the fabric or paper that is covering your stamp, Is it waxed to oiled to keep the clay from sticking?
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
