Old fuel and oil eats paint. I found that out after buying an field box with everything, electric starter, fuel pump, battery( needed replaced) and lots of goodies. The bonus was an older airboat with everything included including 72 Hz transmitter( Futaba) and receiver. Well the fuel tank leaked just a few drops of old fuel on the blue enamal paint that bubbled the paint and ate it. If you get an older plane that has been sitting with just a few drips of fuel, it will ruin a canopy or paint anywhere when removing the fuel tank and hoses. I noticed the rudder hinges are brittle on the Kadet my brother gave me. I am going to remove and replace every hinge on that plane, sadly those old hinges give out over time.
