Exactly! Id rather hear their version why they are here, that being the truth too rather than the uncertain reason for their exile through the eyes of the government.
@@daedalus6433So ive heard, but if you listen closely to what the judge says it basically confirms why they did what they did, its like a conversion in view for example Scion got exiled because she didnt want to be as everyone expected her to be just because she is a women of beauty and everyone things beauty correlates to innocence, the judge confirmed that when he said she was a symbol of goodness but she only gave them horror, so PoE 2 will have same introduction just takes time to figure out boths perspective i guess. But this one connected me more to the character, the other introduction made me feel like a just played some stranger who i had a blank view and feeling of, it wasnt as fun to play shadow anymore after that.
"A slave stands behind you. A warrior stands before you. And Death, walks at our side." Almost brings a tear to my eye. A testament to how powerful voice-acting can be.
2:25 The 2.0 scene had the best speeches imho. They had pride, albeit believed to be victims. The recent speeches denote them as criminals. I can see why GGG switched; it suits their thematic imagery of 'EXILE' and how the lore can wound throughout the campaign.
Just a fun curiosity, the marauder had a different intro speech back in 2013-2014, i don't remember anything except for this part: "i do not fear death, death is my brother". I only remember this because it caused impact, but in the other hand It was dull, i'm glad they changed, but unfortunately got changed again.
I prefer this so much more than the new character screen. Really gave you a look into each character's personality and the crimes that caused their exile.
agreed. It made the characters feel different, each one was an individual whose story was their own. Now, we just have a scaled-down description narrated by the smug, mad voice of a 3rd act Boss. Such a shame. I even liked the aesthetic of the ship's brig more than the Temple in Theopolis. Oh well, live and play right?
i played mostly scion and since i started playing with the new intro, i didnt make sense of her character and personality and this right here explains a lot, i wish they would change it back
Aahhh good old times,it was amazing to see how the game evolved, one patch to another, here you hear ASCENDANCY LABYRNYTH,the you hear MASTERS GET REMOVED,SPELL LEAGUE,MELEE LEAGUE,thats why its amazing to be a veteran
I really love the Templar and Marauder. Their stories seem much more personal than the others, being religiously tied to the gods they end up killing. The "heretic" exiled for questioning his corrupt order, and the Karui slave taken from his home. Every league I hope that they'll have added the Marauder's Act 5-10 lines.
Wow, I'm seeing this for the first time. I've always wondered where that character speech in the wiki comes from, now it makes sense. This is so much better than the current character selection. Although I think it should be some mixture of both. Thanks for uploading!
Each of the characters make it fairly clear why they were exiled. This version of the opening makes it clear that Oriath is the villain here. The new version suggests the exiles deserved to be exiled, and that's not really the case with any of them.
@@nssheepster The Witch either stole or murdered a number of chldren, the Duelist straight up murdered someone for insulting him, the Scion killed her arranged husband, and the Shadow was a long term killer for hire. The other three were BS though.
@@nssheepster >and that's not really the case with any of them No, all of them definitely deserve to be exiled. They all intentionally broke laws while knowing that the punishment for breaking those laws was exile. Sort of like if you decided to rob a convenience store, you know what you're doing is illegal but you're doing it anyway, so can you really say you didn't deserve it if you got charged with that crime?
I played with this intro only for less than a year, but I still prefer this to the new one. Felt more personal, more doomy, more "intro-like". Only better thing of the second intro is the music. I mean, this one is cool, but that other one... It's probably the theme I like the most out of the entire game.
Monk: "My Order taught me everything I know. How to train my body and my mind to become the ultimate weapon. How to exorcize demons back to the rotten pits of Hell they came from. The only thing they did not teach me was to be corrupt like them. I was starting to wonder why the demons kept coming back to haunt the poor people, over and over again. 'The forces of evil shall come back to haunt again those without faith' was an eloquent cover for 'the bribe was thin'. Now I am exiled, for daring to question their morals, and for not agreeing with them. My resolve will be challenged in Wralecast. With my fists and feet, I will overcome my enemies. With my iron will, I will forge my path to justice."
The witchs introduction is like literally fucking perfect i wish this screen and dialog came back :(
These are so much more personal and interesting than the new intros.
Exactly! Id rather hear their version why they are here, that being the truth too rather than the uncertain reason for their exile through the eyes of the government.
@@schwartz1234 Sadly it seems PoE 2 will do the same thing.

Exactly how I felt, when I heard the new intros I was a bit disappointed.
What we ended up with seems like it'd be from a different scene.

The witch's intro is so metal. Criminal that they took this out of the game
Attention prisoners.
Thanks for doing this, I miss the old ones D:
I liked how the overseer's voice is separated from the background din and can be understood.
I liked the scions intro
the witch's intro and ingame dialogs are some favorites

We need these intros back
I love the Marauders one, the acting there is so good
I do wish for these introductions are kept in some capacity!
This was great and refreshing every new re-roll, which I despise to begin with
Thank's for uploading this. This intro was a thousand times better than the new one.
Templars speech is my favorite.
So badass.
All the speeches gave character and personality and philosophy. (And these speeches are why I chose ranger)
Unfortunately those speech is no longer and I miss it
I forgot how fucking good this was
I loved this opening. It's so much better then the new one. Why was it removed?
I prefer the intro with Dominus speech. But I agree this one looks cool.
This speech looks sucks, no one know the reason why our characters are exiled

I understand why they changed them (nearly 6 minutes of character intro?) but man, these are awesome. Love the witch's intro.
The elements are my allies. The dead are my servants, and fear will be my closest friend.
God Damn the witch was bad a$$!!!
still sad they got rid of this every single time i log in
They should combine the two. Show the trial and ship journey
The witch's speech still brings me to chill every time I hear it.
The "new" intro sucks, I wouldn't listen to the judge mumbling for seconds.
Oh man, the witches voice is so amazing, it is the most amazing voice ever!!!

Best Opening version!!
Man, the Templar's belief and resolve are so inspiring.
Such good characters and stories before they were muddied and watered down by patch 3.0 :(
you are missed my friend

GGG BRING BACK OLD LIONEYES THEME AND CHARACTER SELECTION SCREEN PLEASE
Who's the shadow voice actor?
What is the name of this song playing in the background?
don't fix what ain't broken
Why did they remove this intro? is it not far better than what's there now?
So who did you pick?
witch ftw
The Marauder voice over is terrible... I would gladly remake it..
Grinding Gear Games.. please hire me.
