Imo the more we force ourselves to make beats/loops, the more we make mid music Not saying we should make a beat every three months, but making 7 beats from scratch everyday will have the opposite effect of the “practice makes perfect” model For me, we simply have to find the right balance between quantity and quality Again this is my opinion, not saying it's THE TRUTH, might be just me
Love your comment. Simply making as many beats as possible doesn't necessarily achieve what you are looking for or even what others are looking for. Keep creating to find what you like and what you dont like. Why you like something and why you dont like something. Hone in on loving what you are making as much as possible. Hope this method allows you to cut through trial and error in a seemingly less tedious way. :)
I see what you're saying and I agree to a point, in that there is clearly a different, "lesser" power to inspiration that we force versus the inspiration that comes to us unexpectedly like a blessing, illuminating the mind and stoking the flames of passion. Forcing it feels draining, while receiving true inspiration feels like being brought back from the dead, absolutely revitalizing, and yet I'd argue that waiting for inspiration to strike is too unreliable because it ignores the fact that the more we dilligently work on our craft without depending/waiting on inspiration, the more it reveals itself to us, which kinda feels like the muses rewarding the worthy. If anyone resonates to some degree with what I'm clumsily trying to say here, or simply is concerned with the question of inspiration and the eternal quest to attain it, I highly recommend the book "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield. It's a short and efficient read and is what I'd consider to be the best and only book on the subject that an artist will ever need, a true life changer
It's cool that you've been doing daily uploads lately -- helps inspire me to stay on the grind -- but I hope you don't feel pressure to keep at it! Just glad that you're sharing your wisdom like Bob Ross. We appreciate ya!
W nick mira for always trying to break through the musical barrier of our generation.. its not easy with every genre our modern world has.. but to keep getting back up on the horse everytime is damn inspiring... I pray and hope i get to work with people talented as nick one day
thank u Nick if i made Music, and i didn't give up on learning it's 50% because of you all the stuff you gave to your community, all the tips who makes people better sensei of FL, keep cooking
Thank you Nick for sharing some of your workflow! The fact that you aren't charging for this is incredible so thank you for giving back to the producer community!!
Bro I was just about to comment the skill, speed/real time selection and how he made that go gave me goosebumps, 😢😢😢 came here to say that and find out he dumped it. Damnit big nick you are a goat bro. PS I been so inspired by you. I’m a content addict with stuff that gets me nowhere and watching you cook is my new therapy for productive cognitive awareness/decisions.
Thank you. I think this is the next stage for my workflow. Working with several arrangements in the playlist. I do it all the time with my standalone equipment, but fairly new to FL
What really helped me was laying down a first key / synth melody with a top line and then putting down my drums to help the next melody layers flow better with the drums
I wanted to express my appreciation for the vibrant energy and enthusiasm you bring to your videos and the engaging community you've cultivated in the comment section. Your humble approach as a producer is truly admirable. I own a well-equipped production studio, yet I found myself losing the motivation to create music. Recently, I've returned to regular gym workouts, and it's during these sessions that I've noticed an increase in your content. By the time I finish my treadmill routine, your insightful posts have reignited my creative spark, inspiring me to experiment with new ideas and push my musical boundaries. Thank you for your continued inspiration and support. Your work has significantly impacted my creative process, and for that, I am grateful.
Thank you for the tutorials from the last video on chords and this video on melodies and beats. I hope you keep adding more tutorial videos. Nick Mira Fan. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✌🤜🤛👊👍
I make house music and watching your vids helps a lot, sometimes when i’m making shitty music i just keep going to see what i can do with it anyways and ive noticed that helped me get better. Thanks for your help
some of the beats that i like the most have been made with almost only "counter melodies," definitely a great method to use. Techniques. Bob Ross Mira. Legend
Nick can u make a full video on drums / hihats cz ur hh patterns always perfectly fit with the melodies you make I'm having trouble with that I can make a good melody but I feel like my hihat patterns don't always blend perfectly with it PLEASE MAKE THAT VIDEO
Every video from you is nice and simple and very informative, I remember the vid you dropped years ago for the "Flood my Wrist" beat and I was blown away
I just want you to know that you motivate, you give a boost in to this of making it happen, making beats consciously expressing what's inside...emotions, feelings... the way I like it, having fun and that's it (I got help with the translator hehe >~
Love how he explained it to us in the first half how we could do what paryo is doing… just to use his private folder of ridiculously good stems that no one will ever have in the second half
nick you prob don’t remember it but the melody you made for “whistles - juice wrld” is absolutely insane to me I can’t find the loop anywhere and I wanna know how you made something sound so out of space
@@boyarmiragenuinely appreciate the response so much, you inspired my brother and I to make beats i even wrote about you in a school project years ago. much love man truly so talented i learned piano cause of you fr
How I look at it: Drums and instruments. So the steps of "lead, chorus, arp, pluck, etc" all fit in the same category. The only way I look at it is starting with either drums or instruments, so it doesn't feel like im doing anything different if I decide to start with instruments today and drums tomorrow.
One other cool thing you can do that I just did yesterday: You make one arrangement and put a bunch of loops in. Then make another arrangement and put the loops from there into the same mixer tracks as the ones in the first arrengement and just go wild in the 2nd one. Hell, I put portal on the master. Then go back to the first arrangement and vibe.
Yo nick! quick tip, splice has a vst called bridge that lets you change the key and time stretch automatically while you are playbacking in the daw! so you can preview it accurately
When I get beat-block, I typically go back to samples I already used -- it either helps me remember how I made something that I liked, or it challenges me into making something different.
wait how did I never thought of putting in the percussion based on what I am listening with what I have? that end actually might help me in getting it right faster, thx m8
if an idea isn't taking after say 2-3 hours I'll usually just stop there and cut it, either move on to something else, another idea or take a break until I feel like coming back. Could be days, weeks even a month or two. Then randomly out of nowhere I'll sit down for 20 mins and cook up the best thing I've ever heard like it was nothing and everything I pick straight off the rack fits perfectly and I can't seem to make a wrong decision. Those moments are the best feeling in the world. Don't forget to take breaks guys, it can be the best decision in disguise.
Imo the more we force ourselves to make beats/loops, the more we make mid music

Love this! I used to think I was wrong for creating less but it’s how I made my best work and that enabled me to get to where I am now
I disagree. Music is as much of a science as it is an art.
@@boyarmira when you find yourself listening to your own music more than other people's music you know you're on the right path 😂

Music is like going to the gym , turn up everyday and you'll see results
Fr
Those are some wise words. Thanks
thanks bro….fr.
dont just turn up though. do the work even if it doesn't feel comfortable, and you will keep growing
please keep uploading videos

Watching you effortlessly cook a heavenly beat is inspiring, to say the least

This made me motivated to begin making beats again, been slacking and have a hard time coming back to it but I'll never quit! ❤
This beat sounds so futuristic man 😤
Damn, he just end the video like that. what a legend man😭
Everything you did with the saxophone sample sounded great. Inspiring stuff!

that was eye opening bro, always wanted to get into this constrained way of writing because of IDM but could never figure out how, genius cookup
I enjoy making my own melodies instead of sampling/chopping. Chopping has its merits but nothing beats making your own music from scratch.
Man posted 3 goated tutorials back to back is crazy
This is the epitome of the word "vibe". I would absolutely demolished every melody you played. So good

the legendary Nick Mira.. pay attention to him very underrated and a big slime inspiration
i jst wanted to make music and be happy that never happened… i love this.
Trial and error, a lot of good advice here. a lot of times, I make a loop or whatever, then stretch or shrink it and try to work on it from there.
this is the most beautiful thing ive experienced on this website
So effortlessly done 😮
seen the title and figured it was alr boutta be a banger

sometimes with melodies like that, the presets from plugins really carry. shoutout to the sound designers who did their thing idk who they are tho

that beat at the end, damn...!
Using effects and cuts to make different beats with the same sounds.. instead of starting from scratch every time. this is genius
😅
your barber did you dirty by leaving that little velociraptor horn on the back of your head
nice tutorial btw!
lol
i got 2 crowns so my hair sticks up a lot
