There's several documentaries out about the real 50 Cent Kelvin Martin. He was a real gangster/ stick up kid from Fort Greene Brooklyn. He was feared in the streets for his reputation for being willing to rob anyone at any moment, regardless of how much they did or didn't have. 50 (Curtis Jackson) took on his persona, they even produced a documentary on the real 50 Cent after making this movie. 50 sought permission from Martin's family and they gave their blessings with the agreement 50 would buy a headstone for the real 50's unmarked grave.

This movie and "Blood in Blood Out" are 2 of my favorite Gangsta flicks... My favorite trilogy is "Unbreakable", "Split", and "Glass". They're intriguing, sad, and inspiring; if you haven't seen em yet.
FACTS
To learn about why 50 was shot listen to Ghetto Quran. In the movie he was shot over Officer Down in real life they say Ghetto Quran was the song that got him hit. 50 had beef with the Supreme Team and his beef with Murder Inc and Ja Rule stemmed from that beef which is why it was so heated. Another thing is the man who shot 50 was Mike Tyson’s homie.
I think Ja Rule was probably the main dude who had the problem with Ghetto Quran, it had nothing to do with him but Ja hated 50 for what he did to him in the past I kinda doubt Preme or anyone else from the Supreme team had much of a problem with it because it was basically all about the stuff that happened back in the 80s, those who were around the drug scene already knew for many years and to some random dudes listening to 50 cents music it was pointless I bet it was Ja that had Preme organize the hit, Hommo wasn't just Mikes bodyguard but he was connected to the supreme team so it had to be them who got 50 shot he didn't decide that out of the blue sky. It's crazy that after all the stuff 50 went through he's still alive, stabbings, beatings and being shot 9 times and he's still here.
