Your videos always capture a feeling of "over at your friend's house after school in the 00's and watching random videos on the desktop computer in the living room" that makes me feel so at home. Thanks for doing these. Happy to be here.
4:00 Yo Greg, The Queen Mary is a supposedly heavily haunted ship that was made in, I wanna say the 20s or 30s, but today it just sits docked in California basically functioning as a hotel. Lots of stories about employees or passengers dying on the ship and their spirits never leaving. Would actually be pretty cool to see you make a video about 🤔
So I'm a little obsessed with ocean liners, I mean no ill in this comment That's the original Queen Mary (who also holds the record for most passengers when she was a troop transport and likely helped the allies win WW2 due to her speed and ability to carry so many troops.) The Queen Mary 2, the one in the video, is the only remaining ocean liner that is still in service and you can still book transatlantic crossing on her.
The balloon one freaked me out, not because I have megalophobia, but because I have a weird fear of balloons being let go. Seeing all of those balloons together like that is a massive disaster waiting to happen.
I don’t have that fear or megalaphobia, but that was the only thing in this video that gave me a weird sense of dread, maybe just because it’s such a strange thing to look at
Greg your editing is so good. It isn’t over the top, it isn’t too subtle. It completely suits your sense of humour and every video is entertaining because you yourself are entertaining and fun. Have a good one!
I went to the High Roller here in Las Vegas last week, and as I looked at the massive construction from one of the cabins my first thought was "Greg should show this in his next Megalophobia video"
I feel like i have every phobia but only in very specific ways, this one only scares me when there is a giant ship next to me or someone else. The original queen Mary ship is also a little bit spooky👻
technically some phobias arent proper phobias, like trypophobia is a natural response and very few people really have a fear of close holes, most people have thalassophobia to an extent its ap rimal fear of the unknown and big scawy fish, and idk about megalophobia but i think its normal for some reason
that is just sense of danger, you probably don't have any phobia if you think that's what it is. If you truly had one of these phobias you would not be watching these videos
6:00 This one is actually part of a restaurant in Epcot in DisneyWorld. It’s called Space 220, and that “space elevator” takes you up to the actual restaurant area. The walls are covered in screens that look like windows and it looks like you’re in space. You can see the earth and other cool things, like an astronaut taking a dog for a spacewalk or two astronauts duelling with lightsabers. It’s a great experience and super immersive but, naturally for a Disney park, it’s very expensive.
bro greg never misses with his videos, they're always so satisfying and entertaining lol. i also don't have this fear but it's definitely fascinating to look at
That giant tornado is either composited, or it’s so massive and far enough away that it’s behind the horizon. Something to explain the colour difference, the hard edge on the bottom, and the lack of foreground wind.
aw the ending was so nice!! I’m glad you feel safe to try new things, your videos are always a welcome distraction when I’m not doing too good (like coincidentally when this video was posted lmao)
Just pointing out that in Europe the term for what is a 'moose' in the USA is elk. When Europeans went to the US for the first time and saw an American Elk, they thought it was a European Elk (aka moose). The name stayed and has become more used in modern English because of US media being more widespread. As English speaking countries such as the UK and Australia don't actually have Elk (moose), the NA name for them stuck. So the person saying it is an elk could be European :)
whenever i see something mega huge, i'm reminded of The City in the manga Blame! In that world, humans created machines and some of these machines were robot builders which sole function is to build infrastructures. At some point in that world's history, a group of humans brought upon the destruction of their own kind and lost control of the machines. The robot builders, without humans instructing them to stop or what to do, just went rogue and kept building and building and building until they've expanded The City beyond unimaginable space. They've expanded The City so far that there was an empty room that was so vast it used to encase the planet Jupiter until the robot builders have mined its resources into nothingness. The science may be questionable but imagining a world like that makes my brain hurt and whenever i see megastructures, it starts to seem small whenever i remember The City from that manga.
I work with horses for a living, most of them are average size but sometimes you'll see one walk through that's 18-25 hands and you just stand in awe of how big they are, they're beautiful and there's a natural respect you get around them because of their size. very humbling and grounding
The same people who think it's dumb when movies have characters move in the direction of a falling object like to believe that they would never do something dumb in a survival situation.
Hey Greg, been watching (i think every video) since u were at like 10k subs, first time making a comment now. You have no idea how much I love your videos! Your complete unique and real approach to everything is just so refreshing from all the other bullshit on UA-cam. You are easily one of the funniest if not the funniest UA-camr for me. I remember you being the only one I’d really wish to blow up on here and now look at you, I’m so proud seeing you racking up the subs, well deserved brother! You are about to go places. You are awesome!
I think I have a little bit of megalophobia, but mainly when it's accompanied by sound. The plane one scared me, as an example. Also, one of my earliest memories was when there was construction going on at my preschool when I was little. I was absolutely convinced that the construction noises were actually a giant purple elephant rampaging through the streets and that we were surely all going to be crushed. Why did my imagination create this scenario? I genuinely have no idea.
6:17 - You guys know those "rides" at carnivals that slowly bring you up and then just drop you? My chest just got SO TIGHT waiting for the drop to come, lmao
12:45 This is the only one that really got me. I feel like I don't really have megalophobia as much as I think big things are cool, but for some reason I always get some kind of megalophobia triggered by tornadoes. Small ones like dust devils are fine, but the second it actually goes up to the clouds, nope.
The picture of the Queen Mary 2 in dry dock made me have to look away, things that really get me with megalophobia are ships and planes mainly huge machines. There's no way i could be next to a ship in dry dock or be in the water next to a huge ship, and i couldn't walk up to a big plane on the tarmac. I find it hard enough to board a plane using the jet way, I'm fine once i step thru the door of the plane but walking up to it makes me get really anxious. If that space elevator was real it would be like right where i live in Florida. 😂
I think 1 tall building is better when you need to put more buildings on a grid while housing the most people, 2 buildings to house the same amount as 1 means 2 times the foundation space
This is genuinely my favorite channel out there, been watching since your first liminal space video abd haven't missed one video since, keep it up man the vibes in your videos are immaculate
For me… buildings, statues, mountains etc are fine.. I can’t handle giant ships- the closer they are the worse I feel.. very large planes, on the ground… not in the air… those are the two that come to mind (I just got chills and shuddered thinking of it). Mine is very specific.
the space elevator one is more realistic than you'd think. The idea is you have a counterweight way up at the end, beyond the point of geostationary orbit (where the natural orbit path keeps you exactly in the same place on the earth) and the gravity at one end and centrifugal force on the other will counteract to stretch teh cable and keep it taut.
6:00 I can name a few reasons It’s in Florida (do I need to explain?) Gravity Earths rotation Winds Earthquakes Air craft such as Planes, Helicopters, and Jets Space debris And Radiation from the sun (depending on how far away they are from the O zone)
I had a nightmare years back and it was exactly like the video at 9:50 Except somehow, it was earth (or atleast a planet that looked very similar) that was about to crash into us. I remember it being so close that it practically blocked out the entire sky. It is so surreal to watch a video that perfectly captures this
Been watching and even rewatching your stuff recently and the little joke at 1:04 made me subscribe. 10/10 dad joke casual dudeman content, will recommend
Most of these videos don’t trigger my megalophobia at all. Large statues. Massive buildings. Standing next to a massive blimp. Driving on the highway towards a massive mountain. Things like that.
Orbital Elevators work by extending out to a range where the centrifugal force of Earth's rotation neutralizes its gravitational pull, keeping it stable. To increase stability, having a counter weight, usually a docking station, helps keep the structure in tension against gravity.
highly recommend anemoiapolis chapter 1 and the DREAMCORE Demo for future game play. they have fantastically creepy thalassophobic themes while also being very ambient and unnerving.
I read the title and was like.."I do"! Went to an aquarium and couldn't go with n because there was a giant shark hanging from the ceiling and I couldn't walk past / under it. I freaked out! But the pyramids or big buildings, don't bother me. Now, 3:55 is absolutely terrifying and my ultimate WORST NIGHTMARE.
The ice spectacular on our cruise was soo much fun to watch. Yeah it blew my mind how big it was when we went Shopping malls, a 3 story restaurant, an ice rink, a water slide, a chapel... Also I live in tornado alley so the tornado thing is so real and super scary
Yeah, the first time I learned how big moose (mooses? meese?) are friggin' blew my mind. And I think the tall building thing is smart in that it's saving ground space. We've got all this vertical space that isn't being used and we are running out of horizontal space for development.
As someone who grew up playing Shadow of the Colossus I would be hard pressed to find huge things scary anymore, but damn are they still super interesting
that super big building could fall one day and so easily it would be like the death of half the country, and the ship in a drydock could just fall and do massive damage, and the mega cruise imagine all those people doing stuff,it just feels kinda scary to see a mega cruise which is an entire city and it being in the ocean, that ship could very easily sink with one hole and make you drown half the population, and i feel like i never wanna go to a cruise, all of these things are just too scary and isn't that safe, its just....
I had a Megalophobia dream last night. It was a long dream but, at the end of the dream for some reason it makes no sense, it was on the news in the dream that someone made a planet without a star. I was outside at the same time hearing this while I was walking outside and seeing it so close and remember feeling panicked thinking what if it’s crash into Earth.
The Queen Mary 2 is the last operational transatlantic ocean liner in the world. 😊 much like the Titanic she was the peak of luxury for the time she was built and has had an unbelievably long career. She can make the journey across the Atlantic in just under a week. ❤
2:13 "uhm, akchually 🤓" Elk is the European term for Moose, from its scientific name Alces Alces and the German Elch (and Italian Alce) Moose is from the Algonquian term. In Europe, what the Americans call "Elk" is a deer called Wapiti (at least that's its name in Italian and German) names and languages are a mess
I've been seeing ur vids for a while and finally gave them a chance, now I'm obsessed. Finally subbed! I love not only your content but just the way u say things and ur voice lol love u
Hey Greg, love your channel! Have you thought about doing an arachnophobia video? The fear of heights- videos makes me laughably uneasy for sure, but those freakin spiders, man... O,,O
14:25 one of those flies over my house every other day. It seems like it’s flying REALLY low to the ground, (granted it is flying lower than a normal plane would) but seeing how big they are in the ground… CRAZY lol
Greg has realised 2 small videos in a week is better than 1 big video
*oh my god*
**oh my god**
Haha brilliant!
lmfao
eh, I would prefer fewer high quality videos. but knowing greg, they're all high quality, so if he feels comfortable doing more then go for it!
Your videos always capture a feeling of "over at your friend's house after school in the 00's and watching random videos on the desktop computer in the living room" that makes me feel so at home. Thanks for doing these. Happy to be here.
Exactly! 🥰
I've never seen a comparison more accurate
This is exactly it.

@@jamiehall1460 Oh yeah I know, in the vid he said "What happened to Queen Mary 1?" I was just trying to answer that for him
The balloon one freaked me out, not because I have megalophobia, but because I have a weird fear of balloons being let go. Seeing all of those balloons together like that is a massive disaster waiting to happen.
it
I have the same fear! I hate huge tall things that I have to look up at, and also seeing balloons floating away. It's the worst combination of things
Same. I didn’t know why it made me uncomfortable until my boyfriend asked “are you scared of them getting away”
I totally agree, Greg is Greg, and that is what I love
Greg is the type of desk neighbor who after he borrows a pen, he actually gave it back to you
Or forgets to give it back but feels bad about it but is kind of embarrassed to bring it up again so he hopes you didn't really want it that much.
I went to the High Roller here in Las Vegas last week, and as I looked at the massive construction from one of the cabins my first thought was "Greg should show this in his next Megalophobia video"

I don't have megalophobia, but I do have mega-laugh-phobia - whenever I hear the laughs edited into these videos I wee-wee in my pantaloons.
Tornadoes do look unreal. The idea of a massive cloud funnel going from the ground all the way to the sky is wild! I would love to see one in person.
One chased our church van while I took pictures of it like a stupid influencer, turns out 3 of the houses we drove by had to be rebuilt
this channel is genuinely one of favourite little gems on youtube
"that is not necessary" is the definition of 90% of infrastructure in saudi arabia
bro greg never misses with his videos, they're always so satisfying and entertaining lol.
i also don't have this fear but it's definitely fascinating to look at
I have a Phobia of missing a Greg video
That giant tornado is either composited, or it’s so massive and far enough away that it’s behind the horizon. Something to explain the colour difference, the hard edge on the bottom, and the lack of foreground wind.
14:18 C-17s are built to be exceptionally maneuverable for their size, really cool aircraft
aw the ending was so nice!! I’m glad you feel safe to try new things, your videos are always a welcome distraction when I’m not doing too good (like coincidentally when this video was posted lmao)
6:16 That giant rail going up to the space station, looks like it's coming from my house! 😂😂 That's almost exactly pin pointing where I am.
Hi Greg, I love you 🥹 Ty for the entertainment while I’m in the hospital. Totally stoked about 2 vids this week 😊🎉
i hope u get well soon
Get well soon!
I also think two small identical looking buildings is better than one large one. Why has no one thought of like twin skyscrapers yet?
Twin towers?
Ahhhhhh… Well you see, in September 2001-…

5:31 thats an elevator in EPCOT in Disney World to go to the Space 220 restaurant
S-Tier content every time.
I work with horses for a living, most of them are average size but sometimes you'll see one walk through that's 18-25 hands and you just stand in awe of how big they are, they're beautiful and there's a natural respect you get around them because of their size. very humbling and grounding
The Tornado one and The Halo ship did it for me, I got that " I am really small" feeling!
You say it wasn't funny... but it's always funny. And congrats Greg, we sure do need more of you than you want to share.
The same people who think it's dumb when movies have characters move in the direction of a falling object like to believe that they would never do something dumb in a survival situation.

Unless they actually serve a function as living or workplaces, skyscrapers are pure hubris.
i definitely agree. nothing needs to be this big we have to stop
6:17 - You guys know those "rides" at carnivals that slowly bring you up and then just drop you? My chest just got SO TIGHT waiting for the drop to come, lmao
Greg, when ever you post, I watch. No worries with the uneven schedule

Omg that ending jump scared me 😆😆😆🤦♀️Love your stuff, Greg! Thanks so much! 💖🤗
The demolition was on purpose. They used the falling stack to destroy the other building. I saw it from a different perspective on another video.
The picture of the Queen Mary 2 in dry dock made me have to look away, things that really get me with megalophobia are ships and planes mainly huge machines. As far as tornados, you could look up "dead man walking" It's pretty cool.
6:14, yeah, a whole bunch of levels. They went all the way up to level 67, its time for them to fight the final boss.
6:00 I can name a few reasons
It’s in Florida (do I need to explain?)
Gravity
Earths rotation
Winds
Earthquakes
Air craft such as Planes, Helicopters, and Jets
Space debris
And Radiation from the sun (depending on how far away they are from the O zone)
I had a nightmare years back and it was exactly like the video at 9:50 Except somehow, it was earth (or atleast a planet that looked very similar) that was about to crash into us. 10/10 dad joke casual dudeman content, will recommend
My 2 biggest fears are tornado's and wasp's, not necessarily with both at the same time, but when I see them my whole body freezes and I can't move.
My boy Gregory rocking that Tony Stark scruff.
i love everything you post, you are a comfort to us
6:02. it's like a moon elevator if there was one, but i don't think whoever thought of that was aware that the moon orbits us
So many video from Greg bro dude man this week we’re so blessed
Most of these videos don’t trigger my megalophobia at all. Large statues. Massive buildings. Standing next to a massive blimp. Driving on the highway towards a massive mountain.
Things like that.
I don't have a phobia, its just extremely fascinating to me stuff can be so big
The 'does building need to be this big' edit made me laugh a lot
Opened UA-cam at just the right time! 🙌🏻
That giant digging machine is called the Badger 288, and there is a great song on UA-cam about it. Very funny.
The best tsunami video I've ever seen, was a dude in red shorts standing on the beach. Just waiting for the giant wave to overtake him.
Orbital Elevators work by extending out to a range where the centrifugal force of Earth's rotation neutralizes its gravitational pull, keeping it stable. To increase stability, having a counter weight, usually a docking station, helps keep the structure in tension against gravity.
The C-17 Globemaster (big plane flying low) was in Brisbane, Australia. It's part of the annual Sunsuper Riverfire Festival and they do it every year.
That first whale was so cool, I never knew they could jump quite that high, anyways great video man, I always see cool things in your vids.
highly recommend anemoiapolis chapter 1 and the DREAMCORE Demo for future game play. they have fantastically creepy thalassophobic themes while also being very ambient and unnerving.
I wish your videos were longer. Honestly I could sit and watch you talk for over an hr lol. Do/will you livestream?
Where was guy all this time- glad I stumbled into your channel just the exact portions of everything I need in a video- Keep the great work, you goof!
dude that halo reach clips was the first one that truly tickled the megalophobia bone
3:17 yeah that gets me, for sure! Stomach drops a bit like fear of heights but in reverse?
Your explanation of the difference between an elk and a moose mattered to me Greg! That’s valuable life info!
Greg, bro, dude, man, so many expressions, all to let you know this was a great video
Love any amount of content, the wait is always worth it. Megalophobia is by far my favorite but they're all great
Things I’ve learned: fellas like to stack a lot of big stuff on other big stuff make big pile of stuff
0:01 we both are cool
The ice spectacular on our cruise was soo much fun to watch. Yeah it blew my mind how big it was when we went
Shopping malls, a 3 story restaurant, an ice rink, a water slide, a chapel...
You're my youtuber safe space, Greg. Not even just saying that, you're my go-to when my brain is in a bad place.
The massive cruise ship and the huge skyscraper are truly terrifying.
that super big building could fall one day and so easily it would be like the death of half the country, and the ship in a drydock could just fall and do massive damage, and the mega cruise imagine all those people doing stuff,it just feels kinda scary to see a mega cruise which is an entire city and it being in the ocean, that ship could very easily sink with one hole and make you drown half the population, and i feel like i never wanna go to a cruise, all of these things are just too scary and isn't that safe, its just....
Coming home from a rough day at work to find a GregBroDudeMan video at the top of my page turned the day into something special
3:33 *Airplane engine*
Never really comment videos, but i just wanted to let you know that your videos are chill and you seem like a chill dude.

I have the opposite of megalophobia, I think these types of things are so cool. what a treat to sit down and eat and see this video on my feed
greg's "hear me out" followed by what i assume every candybar company's boardmeetings sound like
I love these every vid you post i know its time to tidy my room up before bed and just watch with my mouth open at every vid lol - love it dude!
Hello to the community, it's nice to chill with yall
THIS IS WHY I CARRY WHALE SPRAY
2:13 "uhm, akchually 🤓" Elk is the European term for Moose, from its scientific name Alces Alces and the German Elch (and Italian Alce)
Moose is from the Algonquian term.
In Europe, what the Americans call "Elk" is a deer called Wapiti (at least that's its name in Italian and German)
names and languages are a mess
I've been seeing ur vids for a while and finally gave them a chance, now I'm obsessed. Finally subbed! I love not only your content but just the way u say things and ur voice lol love u
Hey Greg, love your channel! Have you thought about doing an arachnophobia video? The fear of heights- videos makes me laughably uneasy for sure, but those freakin spiders, man... O,,O
Most underrated UA-camr back at it again
14:25 one of those flies over my house every other day. It seems like it’s flying REALLY low to the ground, (granted it is flying lower than a normal plane would) but seeing how big they are in the ground… CRAZY lol
3:35 well you know what happened last time 😶
IM JOKING PLS DONT ATTACK ME 😭😭😭😭
I think moose are sometimes called elk over in britain, so that's probably why the poster titled it like that
3:41 again a building from my country 🇲🇾❤ thanks for making my day greg
That Brazilian joke got me 🤣
I hate that i have this phobia, get reminded of it everytime i look down 😎
Uhm, demolition of tall towers… hmm…
