  • In this video we do a VOR Approach in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC). We look at the approach plate and show you the basic aspects of it. We show you how to tune a VOR, how to track a VOR, how to do a DME arc on a VOR and how to tell when you've passed a VOR.

    I really don't like the RMI method. Unless 0 wind, you won't point directly to the station at 90 degrees, and this will change depending on wind direction and strength as your fly the arc. Also you really don't know exactly where you are along the arc. I believe it's much better to "turn 10, twist 10". A bit more work but much better for wind correction adjustments and you know exactly where you are along the arc.
