I miss flying with F50. One of the best moments in my aviation career is to fly this beautiful aircraft for about 10 years, makes me feel like real pilot.
Im studying at the Aviation Technical Training, and I long for the day that I'll the one that give those signals to an airplane. ( To be one of those men with the orange and black pants) Fokker 50 is one of my favourite turbopropped aircrafts. Thank you for the video!! Really great! Peace
Me too love the motor sound. I flew to Bogotá from Armenia city in Colombia. Present day there`re very few aircraft flying over the cities. Now is running the Airbus 318, 319 and 320. for shorts travels.
I'm a big fan of turboprop airliners. A turboprop airliner that I've flown on quite a bit was the DeHaviland Dash 8, which is very similar to the Fokker-50, with the wings over the fuselage. I wish that the Airbus A-320 was a turboprop airliner, rather than a fan jet. It's my understanding that an airliner that size, with four turboprops, would use 40 percent less jet fuel, than one with the two big fan jet engines. But the down side would be about 80 or 90 MPH slower in cruising speed. That would make a significant difference on a cross country or overseas flight. But on a flight from Charlotte NC to New York's LaGuardia, only 15 to 20 minutes. I think it would be worth those extra minutes of flight time to save jet fuel, and help save the planet. I also personally think that the turboprops are more fun to fly in. Some say that driving a vehicle with a manual transmission is "real driving". I say that flying in a propeller driven airliner is "real flying". I also enjoy the sound that the props make. In high idle and taxiing, over the whine of the engines, the props make your basic "box fan" sound. In takeoff and inflight, when revved up to 1,500 RPM, the props buzz like the wings of a bumblebee, creating the bass hum and vibration that you get inside the cabin. I don't think that a fan jet airliner is really all that much quieter. You just get a different sound inside the cabin, more of a roaring sound, rather than the bass hum. The props are also especially fun to watch on a TV or computer screen, because the 60 cycle flicker creates optical illusions of the props going slow or backwards.
All i know is on turboprops (dash 8 or ATR being perfect examples) im asleep before the aircraft hass even lined up on the runway lol. I love 'em! - F27 and Viscounts, those darts are a sound from my childhood, on finals to Liverpool airport
I flew in the F27 air New Zealand or back then it was NAC in the 70s as a kid and I loved it although the F50 is a nicer aircrfaft. the F27 had round windows I notice the F50 has square windows. love this aircraft
Any chance you can share your camera settings and shutter speed? This is some of the best propeller action I've seen captured. Love it! Well done and thank you.
Pascal, The Fokker 50 would be about 30 years old now. As you know the Fokker Aircraft factory does not exist anymore, which might cause problems for maintenance and spare parts. More importantly, The Fokker-50 how great it was, was slow and heavy, and such a bad player in a world where you hardly can make any mony. Despite, it was the most fun i can think off.
The Fokker-50 was derived from the F27. From the outside: Square windows iso round ones and six blade prop iso 4 blade, way less noise. From the inside: Pratt& Withney PW-125 iso RollRoyce Dart 7 Hydraulic controlled gear and breaks iso pneumatic. AC electrical system iso DC Verry comfy Electronic Flight instruments resembling the latest F-27 layout but with lots of subtile added features. Flight controlls way lighter to controll, An F27 flies like a dump-truck while the Fokker-50 is as easy as can be.
anthony even just saying that alread causes pain in my ears. I don't know if you have experience with single shaft props, but it can be a challenge ! Probarly the reason they're hardly installed anymore
Great video never grows old.👍
i love how the rotating propeller creates the effect of rotating in the opposite direction!

How fast does the F50 cruise at?
damn I do miss the sound of these machines daily ... :) good memories. Great that you keep those memories alive Frank ;)
The F50 is beautiful!
Deze video is serieus gewoon een van de beste op heel UA-cam!
Ik hoop dat ze nog een tijdje met de F50 blijven vliegen!

Did you pass your training?
Great sound.....great aircraft!
Simply superb...a treat for aviation enthusiasts... thanks for sharing...!!

yes, the Fokkers with those t Rolls-Royce turbine propeller engines had a unique sound to them no other plane had.

You have expressed your love for turboprops beautifully

I flew on that aircraft in 2007 - LCY-BRU. Fantastic airline.
Scary ..and beautiful ... my favourite aircraft ..EVER !!! Thank You !! for posting .. so much ... !!! Lovely .. and SO LOUD !! Oh Yeah ..
Not as lound as F27
Last flight at VLM was a F50 2011 ORY LCY hugs from Brasil
Nice livery on the fleet.
Great aeroplane, i flew f50 afew years ago
Missing the pure sound like the F27. Still a very beautiful video liked
.fj:-):-):-)
Fantastic video!
Superbe vidéo
That is beauty
Very nice video.
Excellent video
great video !!!!
Trop cool

I have that Fokker in sight!
Sounds similar to the ATR 72
Same engines and alike props.
They using Dash 8 Q400 and Dash 8 300 engines
Esté era mi sueño.
Welk bouwjaar is dit vliegtuig 🤔
Why was the Fokker 50 phased out of airline service much earlier than
the De Havilland Canada/Bombardier DHC-8 or even the ATR 42/72 series???

Pratt &Whitney turbo prop engine with 6 blades
is fokker 50 same with fokker 27 ???
No, the F27 has Rolls Royce Dart Engines (Distinct high pitch sound) and I believe the F27 also has forward cargo and passengers in the rear.

Noooo ... a Fokker shouldn't sound like that! ;) ;) (.. need the Darts!)
