Here's what I'd like to see: EG's constant failures, NiP's inability to put together a coherent roster, Astralis going through half the population of Denmark, Falcons' "super"team, BLEED's non-starter lineups.
God like… yeah this deserves a segment. They threw away the whole NA fanbase for what? Team Liquid still have not recovered their fans everyone is following CoL and M80 these days
This is a bullshit list!!! How is no one talking about the Evil Genius main roster? That roster was so bad, their academy team was higher ranked with better players.😅
HONESTLY! Maybe he didn’t include because the whole “let’s have 3 rosters” from EG deserves its own video. Was it EG White and EG Black? Pretty sure there was a third power ranger ahh squad in there too 😂
We just took down the ranked team in the world and all the casters can think to say is Heroic didn't show up. We clawed our way back from 217th in the world by BUILDING a talent pipeline the whole scene memed on. Step out of the echo chamber and pay attention.
Yeah that C9 roster post Boston felt like some random dude was spinning a wheel of a bunch of players and whoever the wheel pointed to they brought in.
I would argue that roster of mibr containing stewie2k and tarik could be considered a hell of a cursed roster, but after seeing the teams ranked on this video I understanded it is another level of cursed
This roster is even more cursed if you consider the event fer was absent and they brought swag as a stand-in. We literally had MIBR sporting an American flag in HLTV
NA is ass but cheapening C9's major win to a choke is honestly shocking. They beat the #3, 2, and 1 ranked teams in the world successively to win that championship, I honestly can't believe im hearing this. They sucked before and they sucked after but there was nothing cheap about that win, it was hard fought through the hardest possible bracket lineup at the time.
Astralis the last couple of years trying to throw money at their problems but never actually fixing the structure of the org. Until they stop trying to replicate their success it's gonna be hell for device.
Being a C9 fan in 2018-2021 was definitely a rollercoaster. But to be fair, Golden was ill most of the time he was on the roster, so they had to rotate stand-ins. When he was fine, the team didn't look half bad
Tyloo had this roster consisting of Freeman, SLOWLY, sk0r and fucking emi and ROGA after LETN1 has a coach probably boosted his balkan friends idk, and it was the most trash and auraless team ever
I never cared about CSGO esports, even if I mainly played CSGO with my friends and Denmark was on top for years. A few years I saw an atralis sleeping bag in the Danish equivalent of Costco or Walmart, there are only a handful of them but they’re the only store the size of Walmart or Costco. When I saw it I was just wondering how the hell they got associated with a sleeping bag and who the hell would buy it
why r we rewriting history when it came to golden, he was a very solid caller who got forced out of fnatic after winning premier tournaments . i dont get it
Hey PHY! Another great video, I love your pacing and execution. Please continue to make Counter-Strike videos like this, this is the content I was missing on CS UA-cam :)
The fact that TSM had the 2016/17 NA roster where they were like "We're going to build the next generation of NA counterstrike" and just IMMEDIATELY RELEASED EVERYONE AFTER FAILING TO QUALIFY FOR ELEAGUE ATLANTA!!!? Absolute cheeks organisation lmao
Modern day cursed orgs: Fnatic, Entropiq, Bleed and you could make a case for Sprout. Like seriously, entropiq just vanished, announced some half known players and then never entered any significant events??
Let Sprout out of there. They just did not have the money needed to have a competitive roster. Most of the time they fielded young players in hopes they can resell at a higher price (syrson, k1to, wonderful etc). Furthermore the german regional system broke down so there is literally no competition in Germany right now.
NIP has to be included in this list, only recently they've looked decent with rinkle but still not what was expected of the roster. NIP vs Amkal vs Young Ninjas is my fav storyline this year.
Dude please make more videos! they’re so good and engaging and the way you break down rounds is very interesting and makes me feel less stupid about a game I love Plus already watched them all :(
Both Envyus rosters after apEX, kenny and NBK left deserve a mention. the french roster of xms, happy, scream, rpk and sixer and the American roster including Nifty, reltuC, drone and i don't even remember the other 2. BLEED as well.
I mean, g2 french super team should be in this conversation, if not for the fact that someone managed to fuck up a kennyS, apEx, shox, NbK and bodyyy core
Obviously to recent now but with the deranged roster moves they're making astralis is one day gonna make this list. ("I see myself in this role for many years to come")
Imo heaviest trainwreck in CS eSports is Tyloo. From a team with heavy hitters at a time with Bntet and xcurrate they became non existent. I mean they were always present at the major at that time. Nowadays they are struggling in tier 4.
Pretty good video but it feels like you missed out on mentioning NIP which went from kind of promising with device to throwing shit at the wall hoping it sticks since he left
Are they doing well? Liquid has three major winners, JKS, and a rookie playing out of his mind and they're roughly performing at a Top 15ish level. They haven't really had any impressive victories, Yekindar looks to be reverting to his terrible version again, and Twistzz is going to see his numbers drop over time the more he has to invest in IGLing (like we've seen with device on Astralis). If you replaced Ultimate with Cadian, and rewind back six months, this roster would be getting flamed for not being a Top 5 team. And Ultimate is outplaying Cadian so hard it's laughable. If they weren't coming off of such a drought in form, Twistzz would be getting slated for underperforming with this team. Complexity is one tilt-fest away from Hallzerk strangling an admin, and M80 still needs to play against some top teams before we can judge where they're at.
@@Ryan-sr8fg Youre totally right. Yekindar left Outsiders right before they won, and NAF (and Liquid) somehow won a Grand Slam without winning a single major. I think the point still stands, but ill fix my comment.

Still laughing about "TOP-1 CS ROSTER, GIGACHADS Cloud9" without any awper in 2023, wirh Perfecto, BoombI4, electronic, Ax1Le and one more dude I don't even remember 😂
I would put Falcons on the part 2, because they wasted a lot of money on former major winners and didnt achieve nothing, and now they benched their best player, Sunpayus to get a retired S1mple
I used to play on a team with Chr1zn before he came this far, and honestly he was the best kid i had ever had the pleasure of playing with, he is insanely clever and just a good player. I hope people will give him a chance
funny that you didnt mention the complexity roster of: blameF (passive player) jks (passive player) coldzera (passive player) es3tag (jack of all trades, master of mid) allu (bot/god)
OG isn't some massive organization, I don't know where that idea came from. It's very much a bedroom-run team. Their corporate is 5 people. n0tail, his dad, Ceb, an accountant, and an attorney. And their total employment including all players, coaches, social media people, etc is about 34 people. Cloud9, Team Liquid, Fnatic, G2, Natus Vincere, NiP, Vitality, all those guys have over 200 people. FaZe somehow has a whopping 800+
You mention many teams trying and failing to Moneyball a roster, but you make a video about mousesports who managed to build a tournament winning budget international team in 2018. Maybe analyze the differences between these failed projects and mousesports 2018. Would be interesting!
There will be a part 2 to this, at a later date ;)
Thanks y'alls
I was wondering why there was no talk about EG, so that's why 😅
Part 2 will include Cadian Astralis (believe that)

they WERE really good at making rosters. But after some management and coaching changes, the magic is gone.
If they didnt need to sign 9ine core for rmr spot, they would have made better team
I would argue that roster of mibr containing stewie2k and tarik could be considered a hell of a cursed roster, but after seeing the teams ranked on this video I understanded it is another level of cursed
