Classic Game Room reviews PAC-MAN for Texas Instruments TI-99 computer. Pac-Man review has TI-99 Pac Man review footage shown in the TI-99 PacMan review. UA-cam PacMan review features PacMan UA-cam review gameplay recorded from Texas Instruments TI-99 4A computer for Pac-Man UA-cam review.
You know what I think you'd love, Mark?
There's a restaurant owned by Namco At Woodfield Mall in the Chicagoland area. they have a pacman cabinet that starts you on level 255, a giant LED bilboard wall thing that's actually a pac-man game, a 4 player simultaneous pac-man thing, pac-man themed bowling, and just a bunch of other stuff. also, the sushi and beer are pretty good.
Place is called Level 257. it's pretty rad.
Good to see more Pac-man on the channel! :D
That this version is slower then normal is because the designers did not fully utelize the 16bit cpu of the Ti99, that's why it's so slow.
i love classic game room. even when new books are made, new intros are put on videos, and location changes, the content stays the same and works.
Pactastic
It's a shame Texas Instruments doesn't still make computers today with their own OS. I played on the TI-99 with Pac-Man at school because a teacher I had was a HUGE fan of video games and TI computers. I used to play the hell out of this game. It is indeed slow, but my god it's probably one of the best ports because it plays so smoothly.
Rex Warden Ha-HAW!
In many cases, the manual of these retro games are just as amusing as the game itself.
FYI mark you need to ship your books in those cardboard media packages if they are not to cost prohibitive as opposed to the envelopes. Both my volumes of the ultra massive video game guide arrived pretty bent up and warped. Still love em but I would be surprised if other aren’t experience the same thing. Great work on them though!!
Dude I really miss the old intro. The buildup theme and then the main theme just made the series awesome to watch. Please bring it back? PLEEEEEEEAAASE!?
IAmNotANugget BlackHart or another interesting intro would be nice
Lengthy intros on short videos is an old UA-cam meme.
Da squirrel!
IAmNotANugget BlackHart I second this.
It sounds SO GOOD through a good set of headphones and an amp.
Muh groove...
Please review Alpiner for the TI-99
Have you ever played the re-released version of Pac-Man for the 2600? There is a 4K and 8K version IIRC. It's pretty awesome. It's what Pac-Man for the 2600 should have been.
Aside from the rather basic sound effects, not a bad version at all.
Also, the ghosts taste like stale marshmallows. lol!
The TI-99 version looks too slow. There are a few version that have been made for TI's various graphing calculator models. Some of them are quite good. :D
Love the TI's take on pac-mans music/sound. Be awesome to see a Tombstone City review, definitely my pick from the 99 titles I had. Oddball concept with an unusual mechanic for its time - space/alien themed western shooter. The object being to stop aliens breeding from pairs of saguaro cactus. When you kill an alien with your ship (schooner) they transform into a saguaro, so you need to lure them next to breeding pairs to kill them, which in turn destroys the pair.
There's a little trivia on the whole deal with the cactus and the games development over at videogamehouse, the cacti were apparently supposed to be crosses/tombstones, but execs feared offending religious types at the time.
Also, leave the intro music playing too long and its endless in mind repetition will be your reward.
It's Pac-Man Month???
That's Awesome!!!
One mistake the makers of this version made - the strawberry is supposed to be 300 in Pac-Man. It's only supposed to be 200 in Ms. Pac-Man.
Surprised by the quality of this one. Also, this is gonna be a good month
Still waiting for Lord Karnage's review of Super Mario 64 DS.
Because that guy is AWESOME!
I also have pacman on everything, from my switch, ps vita, ps3 and ps4. A great game for you to review would be Namco Musuem for the Switch. The Switch version of pacman is great because you can put the switch on a hori stand in portrait mode and play with a pro controller.
+referral madness I just downloaded pacman from the google play store and it plays surprisingly well on my nexus smartphone with the swiping actions for movement. I personally prefer playing it on both the Nintendo Switch and the PS Vita. Alongside my phone, the PS Vita is the handheld I take out of the house so I primarily play pacman on that. Not just pacman but other games as well.
I'm surprised you haven't reviewed any of the Pac-Man Championship games. DX on PS3 is probably my favorite Pac-Man game ever
Also, where can I find the music you use?! I love the CGR music lol
Pacman month is the greatest thing in history of ever
What's the difference between a Power Pellet & a Power Cookie?
Looking forward to pac-attack if it's going to be reviewed
It figures that Pac-Man would be on a machine full of Pac-Man clones. Surprisingly, I think the clones are better. Most of 'em, anyway. Mainly because they run faster.
You sounded like metal mario for a sec
The graphics look great, but the slow ass speed would drive me nuts.
Lord Karnage, I’m terrible at Pac-Man games, I played Pac-Man, ms Pac-Man & Pac Land “Pac-Man museum” on PS3 using ofcourse my qanba dragon stick but can’t get past level 1 any of the games.
Holy crap I have a Ti 99 AND a Merkur XR4Ti....
whats up with the opening tune
Is it just me or is the AI a little off? It feels like everybody is just going off what Blinky does rather than each one having its own quirk. The rest seems to work nice but I'm no expert.
How many got the XR4TI reference :)
There's two Clydes! Why are there two Clydes?!
Jomaster The Second, Maby it was telling us the future about the Blinky/Clyde name swap in Pac Man Arrangement on the Namco Classics Vol. 2.
But does the Ti-99 have T R U X T O N
It has Parsec, Truxton's grandfather.
I'd like to give a shout out to WordMuncher.
Graphics are nice, but that is atrociously slow gameplay.
I thought TI99 only had munch man.
*WAKA WAKA MUFAAKA*

What a horrible version of Pac-Man. I recommend the original arcade version!
