I made a custom watch using parts from AliExpress!
(forgive the tv noise in the background. It was Twin Peaks if you're curious)

What a build! I love white dials and ordered mine as well but this is so much cleaner. I think you didn’t put a gasket, that would definitely protect it from water along with the screwed down crown.
That is a lovely build! Simple, but elegant. It looks like the original case you bought needs a chapter ring, or rehaut. That part bridges the gap between the dial and the case on the dial side. On the movement side, you need a movement spacer ring to keep the movement centered in the case. You could also just go with a larger dial (the date window still has to be in the same place, so this is a trickier option) and the movement spacer ring in back.
The larger case needs a special movement spacer ring and is also made for a larger dial, I think a 33-34 mm dial
I think the plastic bit that came inside the 1st case is an adapter of sorts that is supposed to fit onto a nh35 to make it fit the case.
At least that was my theory until i broke my movement, scratched my dial and bent my hand set trying to fit it all in the case. The nh35 fits inside that plastic thingy like a glove, but it just wont sit right inside the case.
Now im waiting for a bunch of new parts to try again. Wish me luck.

A good looking build. Simple yet interesting. You should see if you could find a two piece NATO strap so you get the look and you get to see your movement.

I’ve built around 4 watches now they’re really fun to make. If you build another one pick up a cheap jewelers loupe around 30x magnification. You can see the post with that to place the seconds hand perfectly, and then press it down.
the bigger case is suitable for nh35 with spacer and 40mm dial. It's made for seiko presage build
What a unique design. I would only critique the crown and the included date display, but the minimalism with the additional plane is just superb. I love it. I'd probably struggle reading it though, haha.

You have to buy the case, depending on the size of you dial and type of movement.
thats such a clean build wow , i remember as i child i always wanted a minute hand like that lmao , can u say how much everything put together cost?
I think all together it was £60.

Yes, there is better a way to remove the stem, use the plastic box of the movement, open it, put the blue crown inside near the tip of it and close the box like a tweezer to hold the crown by pressing with your left or right hand, then you can use the hand that is holding and making pressure on the box to push the stem mechanism button and the other hand holds the all movement and swipe to side when the stem is ready to be released and voilá! there you go!
That or just buy the metal nh35 holder!
