Late Camped at this place once. Alder Dune. The joke in the am, when we headed out before the paying the host was..."alder du-in, is camping for free!"
Gorgeous views! It's a bit disappointing to me that there's apparently endless beach and apparently none of it is open to wayward travelers to camp. I still have fond memories of a previous trip to the Pacific coast as a young man. We drove until we were exhausted and stopped in a wilderness use area that was apparently mostly intended for snowmobiles in the winter? We were there in the summer... the off season, and had the place to ourselves. We parked and walked back into the woods to set up camp. The ground was very unstable because of the biomatter and it was pitch black. We awoke the next morning, poked our heads out of the tent and we were in the land of the lost. There were giant redwoods everywhere. I expected to see dinosaurs. We had been tripping over the nearly football sized pine cones in the dark the previous night.
Oddly, Oregon has more coastal access of any state I have seen other than Florida? I did make an attempt to ride to ONE of the drive on beaches, but failed as it became WAYYY to rugged for me and all the gear :(
There's a reason folks fro around here call it the "Coast" and not the "Beach". It's COLD, WET, and WINDY most of the time. I noticed no one was sun tanning on a beach blanket LOL. I think the Redwood Sequia's are my favorite trees. Highway 101 is fantastic. Thanks for the video
@@MotoGiant I live just a few hours from the coast so I want to spend more time there this summer too. It's a fantastic place to spend some time, as I used to camp there often as a child.
@@NorthWestMotos I will join you there if you can find a place to get onto the beach with a street bike? I now they are out there, just failed the one try I made this trip
@@MotoGiant I would love to have a visit! I will keep that in mind while I'm out there and see what I can find. Like you say, I'm sure they're out there it's just a matter of finding the right spot.
Have you seen utuber, Rob Hamilton? He is in Australia I think.he designed a tent that has a second room for the motorcycle. Keeps it dry and hidden while he camps.designed for motorcyclists.awesome.
I live in Oregon and I've traveled the Oregon coast twice on my motorcycle and enjoy it each time
Spectacular footage of the coastal dunes. I had forgotten how awesome the coastal highway can be. May have to do them again someday soon.
Highway 101 does not disappoint.

@@MotoGiant - Riding on the beach would have been awesome content.

I regret not spending more time on the coast - but you are right, year round cold water is a bit much for the beach-goer
