🙏thanks buddy☺️. Yes! the Airride had been one of the biggest game changers! The drive is very good for a low van. 👍. I the Van will be outside the gates but it’ll be there 😎. Hopefully see you there 👍
Great video Steve, I watched every video in the run up to my transporter being delivered last September, to give me some ideas of the mods I wanted to carry out.
Great video Steve, as you know I’ve followed your journey all the way through and have been doing my own mods as you’ve seen. Fairly similar vans. Hopefully see you on the weekend. Regards Steve Mc
Can't stop watching this video now, inspires me to get out and just do it ! Change of plan from my last post, was looking at a good older LWB 2.5, but like hunting for Unicorns. So a newer 2.0 140 may be the way to go, to get away from maintenance costs. Who do you get all your parts from, any specific good suppliers - heard there's a lot of Cowboys out there, selling cheap parts and doing a botch job on other services. So on Lowering when you first got the Van, just springs or anything else to do. I suppose this was getting ready for 20" wheels - is that the best size ? Apololgies for all the questions, but just starting out so trying to get my head around it all.
I am glad the content is inspiring 👍. That’s really great to hear. I can highly recommend you checking out @TransporterHQ for any parts as a 1st port of call. They have always exceeded expectations for me and supply quality parts. When I lowered the van in the 1st instance, with it being brand new I could rely on the shocks being ok so just installed the Ebach Pro 50mm lowering springs. The 140bhp derivative was always a popular choice so can agree it’s a good model to get👍

I hope people appreciate how much work goes into making these videos. Hats off mate. Question: do you regret not adding more options to the new van, ie LED headlights, sidebars and so on, all the things that could have been factory fitted? Or was it a case of fitting new extras as cashflow allowed it? Keep up the good work.
Thanks very much 👍😎. I do regret not holding on for the factory LED headlights for definite! This option really should be standard as the performance of the standard unit it so poor. I have overcome this in the main with the Transporter HQ lights but the main beam side of them are still halogen for legal reasons so it’s still not going to make up for the factory LEDs. No other regrets at all as I have enjoyed the process of upgrading. The only reason I didn’t have the headlight option was that when I ordered my T6 they had match to my full list of requests with the exception of the headlights and it was due 4 months earlier than a fresh order. As I didn’t know the headlights were so poor I went for it but as I say I would definitely have waited and had the headlights now.
'Another great vid' Steve. Following your project played a large part in my decision to get my own Shuttle. While it will be a long time before I can do any of the mods I'd like, I have plenty of ideas thanks to your channel. Also, as a slight aside, did you ever consider installing a dual exhaust and using the other outlet for a diesel heater? I'm not sure how feasible that would be.
🙏thank you buddy as always. It’s really nice to hear my videos play a part in some of the things you want to do😎. I Have considered a mod where I’ve seen a rear bumper with a custom design rear exhaust (it may be fake) it’s not cheep but it’s subtle and looks tasteful but I’ve never sat down and properly taken a better look yet… come from only one place that I’ve seen called customvanz. Regarding diesel heater. I would love one! One thing holds me back. When we sleep in the awning we would not be able to use the heater as the exhaust fumes would end up in the tent😬. Sometimes when we put kids into bed we sit in the back of the van and that’s we’re it would be useful but we’ve relied on an electric heater for this reason.

Wow this is such an amazing inspirational video and so well shot, I only discovered your channel recently but I am hooked I love how much you love your van :) we recently got a 2019 T6 California Ocean in Acapulco blue and it is by far the nicest vehicle I have ever driven. A couple of questions ours has the original wheels on just like yours had, if I changed them to the Navis silver wheels would this affect the ride comfort of the van on its original wheels as I like how it drives now and would not like a really hard ride so any advice would be much appreciated, I assume the headlights and tail lights are from TP HQ? So do I change the wheels and lights, sadly I am not as good with fitting this stuff as you obviously are so I would ask TP HQ to do it for me, I do fancy the front bumper and the grill with the stripe in as well. Damn this could be expensive, I love the air suspension but no doubt the cost would horrify me :) also would a remap improve fuel consumption as I get an average of 34.5 to the gallon. Thanks Andy

Hi Steve, Thank you for sharing this. I have become a fan of your van through these videos. I am curious about something please. Was the van modified to fit the air ride suspension, apart from looking smoking hott, were there comfort/ride benefits to the installation? I cant wait to get myself a Transporter now and get busy building. LOVE that colour as well.
Hi Hegan, Really sorry I missed your comment and this reply is so late!!! however I do appreciate your kind feedback and can say the van did not need to be further modified to accept the stock arride system... it massively improves the drive when you are daily driving a 60 -80 mm drop from stock. nothing else compares and then you can still raise up and arrive at the unexpected locations with the front bumper in tact 💪😎

When you got your front and rear spoilers, did they come painted from the retailer or did you have to go to a bodyshop. Asking as it seems there's a lot that come primed but few painted.
Hi Steve, I had the front spoiler painted by the VW body shop and the rear spoiler was supplied and painted by Leighton Vans so both were ready to be fitted but they would ordinarily be supplied in primer.
I assume all your aftermarket wheels are 20", so how wide are they and what size tyres you running. Trying to figure out the wheel, tyre and suspension conundrum at the moment so I can get parts sorted
Hi Steve, Yes all are 20" I am running 20 x 9J wheels on 255 / 35 /20 tyres all of my wheels are now this set up but the black wheels I have are a slightly different offset to the new Navis wheels. I do have more in depth videos about both sets and the tyres on my channel if they are any help?
@@stevecockton6624 Its is very expensive I have to say... BUT here is why I don't regret my choice 3 years later. it reaches temp from ambient very quick, it uses very little power when its running in general and the thing that really impresses me the most, when my van wan in that 40degree heat we saw (lord knows how hot it was inside after coming back to it) the temp on the readout was still at 3 Degrees. any other 12V fridge i know of cannot cope with this scenario. they use these in the Aussie 4x4 in the outback so its also happy to get thrown about. as you can tell I'm pretty pleased with mine lol 👍😂
@@SteveField thanks Steve, I just found your reply on the Navis video. I'm getting a 2011 multivan /caravelle soon and really like the Navis however I'm only going to drop 40-50mm on H&R springs and not sure what tyre size to go with. Was looking for possibly 265 40 20. Or 255. Wanted 40 for the extra comfort as a lot of people say 35 is a bit too harsh.
You can run a good deal of tyres on 40-50 mm drop👍. I have in this video….ua-cam.com/video/87phWRN3AOI/v-deo.html 275/35/20 and the van is lowered by 50mm in the video so you’ll see that you could even get a 275/40/20 on without any bother. But essentially you will have more comfort if you get a 40mm profile👍
Great video Steve lovely looking van can you tell me what off set the vosson wheels are and what tyres you had on them as I have heard some places put a larger tyre as they get them cheaper 🤣 cheers mate 🤙🏻
🙏Thanks buddy☺️. The offset is ET35 on the Vossens. The CVT ones near the beginning are staggered so ET42 on rear with a 10.5j tyres 275/35/20 all round. The Vossens post Airride were 9j all round Et35 on 255/35/20 tyres for the tuck👍

@@SteveField that's a proper reply mate, full comprehensive answer. Thanks for taking the time to explain. 👊. Time to do some more research.

How much airride cost mate? Thanks
I paid £5650 for a twin compressor setup fully installed.
@@SteveField where about? Thanks
@@stefanbatorypolskikrol Had mine done at A R Tuning in Lancashire. check out this video... ua-cam.com/video/pt8ldZ3z740/v-deo.htmlsi=2YtlCzUfy1-KVigs
This van is the normal long size??
Yes. It’s a standard long wheel base. Looks longer due to the lowered suspension
Hi Steve, what tyre brand and size do you have on the Navis?
I know the size but on this rim (as I have had a few) not sure the brand but will check. Size is 255/35/20 and they are rated 102Y
@@SteveField fab, thanks Steve! 👍
@@SteveField thanks Steve 👍
Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe..

@@SteveField cheers mate thanks for that , looking forward to future updates 🤙🏻🤙🏻

@@SteveField Steve - I too have the v2 headlights fitted...Is it possible to have the DRL’s go off when the sequential indicators come on and come back on when indicators go off?.... If so - do you know how?....Thanks. Steve
@@steve61098 Hi Steve, Yes it is! you can do it using the Carista, I actually did it to mine for a while until I fitted the lower DRLS so I know it can be done. If you pick up a Carista there are plenty of options you can tailor without any issues or errors
@@SteveField cheers Steve 👍
Please don't sell it ever 🙌🙌🙌
👍👍 I wont 😎
I know. You are single 😂
🤣
Waste of cash
Trouble is even after all that…..it’s still just an overpriced van. A nice van but still a van , who wants to daily a van 🤷🏻♂️
If the answer to that was nobody then they would not be overpriced 👍
