As a linguistics guy, it’s taking me a while to find my 3rd language. I have tried almost every language and kind of wrote off ASL because I used it a lot at home with my mom and siblings. However, after learning about the grammar and the surprising culture shock of the deaf community I have fallen in love. This couldn’t have come at a better time. I appreciate you guys.
Yes me too. God put it before me because he knew my health conditions would take my voice. My 5 yr old granddaughter is learning from me. God never intended for me not to talk. I told my people they better pay attention 😂🥰🙌🏼🙌🏼
I have always been interested in ASL but kept putting off learning it. But this course seems so detailed and accessible and very easy to comprehend, so I'm excited to finally start learning this beautiful language! Thank you so much for this!
I love this video! It was so helpful how it showed the sign first, then when back over a little slower and described the sign! I looked into the lessons and they are fairly expensive for me. I completely understand the price though, but please keep up these free videos! It helps me, my family, friends, and church learn for it others!!
I have a request... Do you have any videos for people in the service industry? To help order drinks/food / find the bathroom etc when they're in an unknown establishment?
May I ask You - Dear Genlte Meredith - how, in a phrase like the one You used: "I can't find the book", I can discriminate in asl from "I cannot find the book" from "The book cannot be found"? Thank You Kinfness and Wondrous Work :-).
Hello from Virginia! I am teaching 7 4th and 5th graders ASL and have started using your youtube videos. Would this course be helpful for that age group or is more focused on adult learning? Thanks for all you do and the wonderful resources!
Thank for sharing these in your class. The course is set up much like our channel's videos with additional info. I think it could word for your student with additional support.
I want to know how to sign "Can I borrow that?" because I'm in a special needs class (I have a neurological disorder) and I need it for my deaf friend.
Before I even start- please please please tell me if MY difficulties make it impossible to learn this form of sign… I’ve had many jaw replacements and more than half of my face doesn’t have movement. Especially my forehead- the first lesson says “put your eyebrows together and raise…” I can’t do this. I am hard of hearing and took speech therapy the first 6 years of school. So, I’m sensitive to everyone in this community. I want to be helpful to anyone I can. Please tell me how I can learn without using my face.( my mouth works okay)
Hey Meredith, what do you think is the best age time for a person to learn asl, I mean like the age where a person understand and learn it fastly Sorry for my bad English Hope you're having a great day and stay safe healthy and blessed always 💕
Honestly any age. Babies can start signing as early as 6 months and I have even taught students who were in there 60s. As with any language, learning earlier is always better but its never too late!
@@LearnHowtoSign that was a nice and right answer for me and I think I did start learning it early cuz I started learning asl this month and I am just 13 and soon to be 14 🙂
Can you maybe do a feeling sign language video if you haven’t done it already like I want to tell someone in sign language “Are you okay”. I want to know how they feel

Thank you, I feel like grammars my worst part of ASL, luckily everyone I've signed with can kinda understand me if I use PSE when I confuse them.
Yes, grammar can be a tough concept. I use PSE too if it’s needed for the situation.
Thanx that’s was easy
Thanks ASL

Hi, I'm sorry to drop this here but I would like to know if you have a video to teach fractions? I really enjoy learning from your videos. Thank you
We don't have video on fractions. When signing basic fractions you will sign the numerator above and the dominator below.
Are there Human Rights Activists for the hard of hearing or deaf adult late deafness?
Can I say "can't" is fun to say as I get to chop off my already missing finger?
do u recommend any book?

Asl pro online has a dictionary that’ll show you each word
@@neenasanchez1812 cool thanks!

Hi!! Just new around here and like your videos!! Is there any app you would recommend??.Keep on with the good work!!
I think there are some ASL app produced by Marlee Matlin or Nyle DiMarco. I would recommend theirs if you can find them.
@@LearnHowtoSign oh!! Thanks!!! 😊
I am left handed, can I sign with my left hand or do you need to learn the letters etc using the right hand.
You will use your left hand since its your dominate hand.

Love this idea.
I subscribed to you
Thanks for the sub!

We do not but are always up for exploring ideas to improve content for you all.

How do I sign up for the lessons?

Hi you can make the music jingle bells in asl please 🙏🙏🥺🙏
That would be fun come this Christmas.
So at 2:09 everyone with Botox thought the same thing…uh oh.
Hearing people shouldn’t teach ASL it’s offensive to deaf people. Is the teacher hard of hearing or something?
learning to pretend to be deaf
