I read Suneater #1, Empire of Silence, a few weeks ago and needed something different before going to #2. So I'm now 3/4 through Project Hail Mary and what do I find? Things eating the sun. There's no escape, folks. 😀 PS. Both extraordinarily imaginative and fast paced books.
Glad you loved it. Agree with what you said here. I think it feels like the spiritual successor to Howling Dark with structure/pacing like DiW. I've decided it's my favorite Sun Eater book
If you havent yet read The Dregs of an Empire, check it out. Its the story of what happened to Lorian between Disquiet Gods and the previous book. Its a great look into Lorian as a character imo.
@WordsinTime Definitely read it if you like Lorian. It developed his character more than any other book in the series, in my opinion. Which I suppose should be obvious since it's a book solely centered on him lol.
To be fair you should also consider the 3rd option. Which is that both you and the book are insane, at least that would probably be applicable for me anyway :)
I've heard so many great things about this book, I'm just not sure I want to commit to a 7 series tale. Electric Forest, Way Station and Hot House are 3 books I cannot find out in "the field".
It is a commitment, but for me it has been worth it, and I say that as someone that doesn’t read a lot of long series. I loved Way Station, and I’ve heard good things about Hot House. Hopefully I enjoy Electric Forest!
The series is told in a manner where Hadrian gives you the ending on page 1 of the first book and the series is about how he came to be the Sun Eater. Otherwise all I said about Hadrian is that he has ups and downs, which is pretty vague, and I didn’t mention a single other character name. As far as reviewing something that is book 6 in a series I feel like I did my best to avoid spoilers.
@@WordsinTime got it, thanks, should have assumed that. on a related note, maybe an interesting video idea would be to explore what is and isn't a spoiler.

Big love for Suneater here, although I'm late to the party. Recently finished Howling Dark, loved it. 9.5 out of 10 for me. Excited to read on. 👌
Awesome! I think you’re in for a good time!
Let’s goooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Love seeing the 9.5 and competing with DiW for favorite in the series. I can’t wait to dive into this one soon!!!
I hope you love it too!
The first 40% (the Sabratha sequence specifically) is my favorite "scene" in Sun Eater entirely. That battle was SO. DAMN. GOOD.
Haha it’s epic!

That’s a good description, it blends elements of those two!
I didn't even know about this series until a few weeks ago but your obvious love for it is catching so I'll have to take a look⚛😀
If you like space opera or sci-fantasy I think it’s a journey worth taking!
This is a great review. I haven’t read any books in the series but now I definitely want to 👏
Thanks! I hope you enjoy the series as much as I have!
I am starting it tonight.
I hope you enjoy it Megan!

I own it but haven’t read it yet, so I’m glad to hear you thought it was worthwhile. Lorian is one of my favourite characters!

IMO. It is the best book. Also, I found in the books the prefect term how to describe all Sun Eater books ---> The Monumentals. ;)
@@mb2453 Haha nice
This review is exciting. I’ve only read book one so far. I think I need to step up my reading pace and catch up before the last book is out. 🤔
Do it! ⚔️

Man can’t wait to get caught up with you. Just on book 3.
I look forward to us being able to discuss more Sun Eater!
@@WordsinTime yes!
I have not read this series yet but I did recently buy the fourth book because it has my favorite cover 😂
Haha the Cielcin are quite imposing!

Haha you might be onto something Bruce!
I just finished /Electric Forest/. I will be interested to see how you interpret how the ending explains itself.
A few people have mentioned the ending so I’m intrigued!
The real question is will the said Sun Eater ever be full?
When he reaches his required caloric intake of suns!
@@WordsinTime hmm. Do diffrent stages of stars taste diffrent? Like yellow is sweet, red is tart ect. I wonder.. 🤔

Disquiet gods is definitely my favorite.
I’m glad you loved it!
The series is on my 'maybe' list.
If you like space opera or sci-fantasy I think it’s worth a try!
In before your review gets more views than mine.
Hopefully a rising tide helps all Sun Eater videos!
revealing the character-arc of the protagonist over several novels isn't a spoiler? not trolling (fan of your channel), but sincerely curious.
