Wonderfully performed by Tony Thorpe, the guitar and piano sequences are excellent. But this song in the "Sign Of The Times" album was credited to Richardson-Williams as composers.
I like it but I prefer the one on the disc with choirs and more guitar parts ! Maybe the producer and the rest of the band knew my taste ! ;-) Am I wrong or the last piano notes ("Something") don't sound the same ? I also remember listening to a version in which the guitar solo is slightly different. So after Sign Of The Times another song credited to Richardson/Williams on the record actually written by Tony, how many songs have wrong credits on the records and were in fact written and composed by Tony ? It's time to know ! It took me 10 years to learn that SBL was recorded by Paul...
Listening to the bands albums particularly "We can do it" and "Rubettes" ie albums 2 and 3 you can hear a distinct Beatles influence I think, it also appears on some b sides of singles
And the two songwriters responsible for those early songs like Sugar Baby Love etc (Wayne Bickerton and Tony Waddington) used to be in the Pete Best four, the band ex beatles drummer Pete Best formed when he left the beatles
I like both versions. Tony's vocals sound great on both versions.
superbe version merci a vous
Always my favorite, since I was a child. Mr. Thorpe, your vocal is amazing.
Alan Williams forever ♥️♥️♥️
This version is really cool
¡Bravo,excelente versión! 😚😚😚
it's too great, we have to bring out pieces like that, I love Thony's work, I'm sure there are still pearls like this to find, thank you again
I really like this version 👌
Bonita canción , excelente ,Rubettes
Great version. But also highlights the power of a vocal backing.
Very Beatlesque. Nice one!

Great!!
I like both!
これかなりいい
Tony a une très belle voix.
Notamment sur "Baby I Know "
Good version, but I still prefer the original because of the backing vocals. Wim Calis, Dendermonde, Belgium.

Tony Tropi gosto de ouvir você cantar que vos bonita e firme porque você não canta mais fãs um repertório só seu e manda as músicas para nós fans
It's smell like the beatles !

Why did they credit this song to Richardson Williams ? That's so weird to do that. Tony and Alan were so different. That couldn't work.
This could have been a Beatles song....

Hello Tony, is that possible to play guitar with you for a few moment ?
I prefer this to the single version.
