The Electronic Control Board or Main Circuit Board controls almost all electrical functions of the refrigerator including the fans, lights, temperature regulation, ice/water dispensers, etc.
Part number WR55X10942 replaces AP4436216, EA2364946, PS2364946
Today we will show you how to replace a Control Board (part number WR55X10942) yourself on a GE Refrigerator.
WARNING: To avoid personal injury or electrical shock, always make sure that the appliance is completely disconnected from the power source by unplugging the appliance before starting any repair.
Tools Needed:
1. 1/4-inch nut driver
2. Needle-nose pliers
3. Wire Cutter (some models)
Step-by-step how-to instructions for replacing the Electronic Control Board (part number WR55X10942) in a GE Refrigerator
1. Unplug the fridge and locate rear panel
2. Remove the 1/4-inch screws and set panel aside
3. Gently pull on each electrical connector (do not pull on wires) to disconnect from board, do not disconnect Blue Connector
4. Use needle-nose pliers to press in on white stand-off pins
5. Remove board
6. Disconnect blue connector
7. Reconnect blue connector to new board
8. Re-seat board to refrigerator
9. Gently push connectors into terminals to reconnect to new board
10. Use a screw as a guide to secure the ground wire to fridge frame
11. Reassemble back panel
12. Check for additional instructions for your model
