I own a legal grow and have three freeze driers, two that look very similar to the one shown here and one that is much much bigger. The problem with freeze drying cannabis is dispensaries don't like to buy it, and when they do it has to be at a very discounted price or they wont touch it. And the kief is so bright green that no one wants it because they and their customers think it is mostly plant matter and not good kief, even thought THC testing comes back at near 50%. So before investing in commercial freeze driers for your cannabis, make sure you have a market for it.
I understand. How about the quality. I always thought the whole point of drying it slowly at lower temperatures to break down the chlorophyll. So if you say the final product is way more green than conventional dried weed I assume that the final product still contains high amounts of undesirable chlorophyll? Or is it just the colour and the uneducated customer that makes harder to sell?
@@oe5580 Quality is not affected. I have no idea chlorophyll content. Provisioning Centers will just use any excuse they can to lower the price.

great interview. i am curreñtly making a home grown freeze dryer. im taking a mcdonälds under couñter freezer, and making a acrylic box inside. everything is from the metle recycler center. found a lab vacuum pump and a lab freeze dryer, so i took the two inch plexy door. plän to use hot plätes inside at first. should be a mess. it is like that johnny cash song. its a 52 53 54 57 automobile.

6,000 dollars? Get out of here. That's WITH OUT the pump..... What gives this machine the ability to do skittles in one house vs harvests dryer? I am sure we could just find that out and modify a harvest dryer for a fraction of the price. Him comparing freeze drying cannabis to regular drying on a rack for a month time is bogus. You can just toss full plants in teh freezer before you make the hash and then use a harvest dryer to dry the kief .
Harvest right units break down and for bubble hash the machine needs to be reliable the product inside most of the time is worth more than a harvest right unit my pharma model is down because of a bad condenser fan this is the 2nd issue in 18 runs i am now looking at a holand green science
@@peterconka6315 - running hash through my harvest right perfectly fine. If at some point it breaks i will just buy another. I could buy 2-3 of them for same price.
