    You're one heck of a good gentleman. God bless the kids and you're becoming a rare one. My brothers and brother in laws and their kids are like this guy. The PTB can't stand people like this but I can stand them and my people appreciate the many things he can do and I highly doubt there is a damn thing he cannot accomplish if left to his own devices. God bless again, and hey, I'm not even religious but you and your fam and your work motivated me to say that.

    Oh, the reason I stopped at this site was I'm going to look at a '74 Brave here in about 4 hours. Wish me luck, mateees! Oh boy, what's in store for us, right? Time will tell. Later everyone and tell people to sub to this good man's show. They just might learn something.

    ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE BEST restorations with new design and upgrades I have seen. Especially on a Winnebago and a Brave version at that. The conversion to diesel is inspirational and totally epic. Many happy trails to you and yours in your wonderful machine...

    Very Cool. I've been looking to purchase a Motorhome to turn it into a traveling art therapy center...and live in it too. Yours looks really nice and clean. And .. Your a good Mechanic too. Heehe...probably helps with an older vehicle I guess.

    Thanks for sharing all your videos! We just bought a '70 D24 with a 318 that's massively under powered. Would love to drop a cummins in to replace it but that might be a little outside of the budget!

      I'll do a cost brake down at the end. I'm going to spend less then $8000 on the hole build (but I did all the work my self with a little help from friends and alot of help from family)

      What motor did you pull from your Winnie? Just wondering what pushed you towards the Cummins and away from some of the straight drop ins like the 413/440? If I could find a decent running Cummins for not a whole lot I think I'd prefer that route since the torque is ridiculous on those but otherwise I'll probably go with the big block v8's.

      @wotracer49  6 років тому +1

      it had a 440 big block, the cooling system was corroded away and I didn't feel like putting money into it. I have heard that some small blocks can get into the low teens MPG if running right

    • @wotracer49
      @wotracer49  4 роки тому

      Yes, that's what I have (some people call it the 46rh). Its been doing great, it gets a little hot when I'm in stop and go traffic in the middle of the summer, but on the freeway it keeps really cool

    I assume you attached the seat belts to the frame? Is there any accepted guidance on how to do this-connectors, etc? Getting after market seatbelts installed has always been one of my fears surrounding a renovation like this.

      It comes with all the hardware, just bolt it to metal, add metal if its too weak. That's pretty much all it needs

    How hot is that floor going to get with the engine and turbo right next to the floor? On mine I had to replace the front drivers compartment floor carpet after I installed some quailty peel and stick insulation/ sound deadening on my floor. It was just too hot to sit up there for hours. I did the inside of my doors and the underside of the front cap while I was at it. The dash AC couldn't keep me cool enough before I put new thick carpet with padding back up front. And I went nuts on the underside of my doghouses insulation too. New carpet on top of it as well. Cummins with turboes put out a LOT of heat without a good airflow.
    Love the build. Will be happy when mine is all done, but I'm a constant tinkerer, so it will never be declaired ""DONE".

      @wotracer49  4 роки тому

      We have driven it for hours, i insulated it enough that its not hot or loud, its better then most people expect 👍

      @@wotracer49 Oh good! I fought that with mine and finally just went "Overkill" on the insulation and sound deadening. Driving across Arizona was like sitting in a fish bowl in the sun for me. That poor Dash AC was never up to keeping me cool while crossing the desert. So we kept ice cream in the freezer to nibble on until we got off the Desert floor. One of the advantages of having a motorcoach. "Hey, somebody make me a sandwich and bring me a cold drink please!" And I loved being able to pull into a rest stop and go lay down on the bed for a nap without even opening the door.

    This is such a great project, I love watching the progress. I'm curious where you sourced the long seatbelts you installed for the back futon?

    • @wotracer49
      @wotracer49  5 років тому +1

      We purchased all of the seatbelts from www.wescoperformance.com

    Wow I had one , not updated like yours. I live in California and spotted one in mint condition so I want to make an offer .can you please advise me on what kind of offer I should make? Thank you😁

    • @wotracer49
      @wotracer49  5 років тому +1

      I've seen some in Good original condition go for as low as $3,500, but I wouldn't sell mine for anything less than $30,000 at this point
