@ezlow1065 - The are UNDERPLAYING it. "GeologyHub" has reported extensively on this event. There was a lava fountain 2km high and an ash plumb 21km high! And an undersea eruption occurred between the two islands. This is a major eruption.

Volcanoes are erupting for billions of years. This has nothing to do with the Lord. There are about 1500 active volcanoes worldwide. Only in Indonesia there are 128 active volcanoes.

The CO2 emissions from Ruang pale by comparison with SO2 emissions. SO2 emissions are at times in the tens of thousands of tons over several days of eruptions. In particularly large eruptions that can lead to a global cooling as happened in the 1991 eruption of Mt Pinatubo. This eruption is not likely to get that big.
CO2 by contrast while sometimes being produced in the thousands of tons by volcanic eruptions is still minuscule compared to the CO2 produced by human activity.

@@indoaseanluv Eastern, I’m in sarawak so we don’t really see any difference in the sky but some Eastern flights to peninsular were cancelled while most/all flights within the two eastern states were cancelled, i think it has resumed now
I was asked to be indoors because they speculate acid rain though but I’m not sure if that will actually happen over here, im at the far end of eastern, furthest from the volcano so i really dunno

I think that is actually from the Iceland volcano which is still erupting. It's inappropriate to use such images, but that's the way it is.

How far will the tsunamis go (if they occur)?
Depends on how big the cause is. If a major land slide occurs from a flank collapse on Ruang it could send a massive tsunami that could devastate anything within a 1000 miles of 600 km. Such a tsunami could even cross the ocean to South America though somewhat diminished by then. It could start out at 10-20 m high or even higher.
First a huge Japan quake, followed by Taiwan, now a massive eruption just south of Taiwan. Is the Earth's seismic activity in the region increasing? If the next one Philippines or New Zealand?
