- Ready to plant stargazer lily bulbs? My all time favorite flowers of all time I love having these in my garden... the goal is to have dozens and dozens so we'll need to add plenty more bulbs over the years! I added 20 last year so here's to another 20 bulbs... I'll show you what they look like and how to plant them!

On the back of the packaging I thought it said the bulbs should be spaced 4-6" apart. However, you planted all four right next to each other. Do they still grow well in that case?
Lily bulbs naturalize and will multiply so typically you want to plant each group about 4-6" apart... while you can plant a single bulb in a space it will take a while to fill in. I planted these last year but I was adding them to an already established group of tiger lilies (that I planted the same way 2 years before) they've done well and keep coming back every year... I'll have to divide them in the next few years after planting so many!
It looks like you were planting these under a tree. I was under the impression that stargazer lilies need to get full sun? I am in zone nine in California and would love to be able to plant some of these in my backyard around my tree as it appears you have, but it is very shady. Do you think that they would grow? Thank you for any advice you can afford me.
I don’t know that they would work under a normal tree… mine is missing half its branches leaving the right side of the bed to get full afternoon sun. They’ve been here for a year or two and have bloomed twice ☺️
Do I need to dig them up after they are done blooming this season and store for next season or I can keep them in ground?
Lily bulbs should be able to stay in the ground… I know in zone 8b where I live they multiply and come back every year

They're doing great, they're all growing and making buds. The first purple dream lily bloomed yesterday and the Stargazer Lilies all have buds... my May Garden Tour will be up on Thursday if you want to check out the progress! I'll include bloom photos in my What's blooming in May video at the end of the month since the garden tour was finished yesterday when the first lily bloomed.
