- The dumbbell stiff leg deadlift is a great leg exercise that targets the hamstrings and glutes. To get started:
1. Hold your dumbbells in front of your hips with palms facing in.
2. Feet should be hip width apart and knees slightly bent.
3. Hinge at the hips as you slowly lower the weights toward your ankles. Do not allow your back to round - keep the lower back straight at all times.
4. Feel the stretch in your hamstrings and glutes then contract them to rise up to standing and flex all the way.
5. Repeat for given number of reps.
