Saint Brendan Navigator of the Emerald Isle

The Story of Saint Brendan aka Brendan the Navigator, an Irish monk who is said to have crossed the Atlantic Ocean in the 6th century before landing on what is now North America. If legend is true it would mean that his voyage predates Christopher Columbus as the first European to discover America by almost 1000 years.
