Young Worker -- Bakery TV Commercial

Young Workers are the most vulnerable workers in Victoria. They need to speak up more if they don't understand safety procedures. Supervisors need to make sure they are working safely. This story takes place in a retail bakery, and is a graphic example of the risks involved with young people not speaking up. It doesn't hurt to speak up.

I have to admit, this actually had an affect on me. If ever I'm unsure about anything in the workplace, I make sure to ask - prevention is better than cure after all! Definitely a worthwhile advertising campaign!

I worked in a bakery for like four weeks and we had legit the same slicing machine and no one ever warned me that I could get hurt with it. They warned me of sharp knives, dropping the rolling pin, and the heat of the oven, but not the bread slicer. I shoved my fingers in that thing millions of times, and never got cut a little bit. Not sure if ours was a safer version or really dull, but I feel like you'd really need to shove your finger in there to get hurt? Either way, when I saw this I was so glad I didn't work there anymore. Would of made me so scared.

If you make a mistake, eg the loaf of bread, you could just grab another loaf and get that sliced the right way
