Ah. My first game on the Switch and my first main series Pokemon game. Still stuck on those annoying wisps but beat Volo. This was an amazing journey for me.
Yeah I felt the same way. I wasn't always super attached to Jubilife's Theme but considering this is what greets you after wrapping up the main story, it was the first time this familiar melody made me teary eyed.
When I got to this point in the game, I didn't think the music would change from the middle version. But thankfully, I managed to start a quest in the village that let me get a bit into the song, and when I heard that original Jubilife melody kick in... I tell ya, that's the closest this game has gotten to making me legit tear up. (I'm admittedly tearing up listening to it now.) I didn't think the game would go all the way, but it fuckin' did! It's so beautiful! 😭
Now THIS is how you make video game music. It's gotta fit in the game's setting (time or place,) sound good without getting repetitive or boring, maybe change or evolve as the game progresses, and sometimes even call back to a previous title in it's franchise. This is stellar!

For me, is genius how they developed the theme of Jubilife Village into a more similar version of the Jubilife City theme at the end of the story: just in the moment villagers started to realize they can live together with Pokémon. Even though I started my Pokémon journey in Johto, I loved this game and its music so much.
This game was there for me in a very difficult time in my life when I hardly left the house for months and I had no purpose. It may sound sad but this game was one of the highlights of my day and Ill always love the game and music because of that
Sometimes it's the little things in life that keep you going and bring you life in a dark time. Fanfics, jk! The smell of morning air still reminds me of one particular book (the girl with all the gifts) I read in between lessons with my window open. I don't think I'll ever be without that.
Same for me - I was assaulted earlier this year and spent pretty much my whole recovery playing this game beginning to end. It was a much-needed escape. Glad it could be a comfort to you the same way it was for me. ❤
Still weird how this song evokes a nostalgic feeling like we've played this game far longer than it has been. And no it's not just because it's a variation of Jubilife City, when I played Shining Pearl, I didn't have that nostalgic sense hearing the original. This variation just somehow brings something hidden out.
