As someone with albinism who isn’t blind. I feel so proud to see other people with albinism on social media spreading awareness.
This is an ad
See? 😂 did you just say see ? I mean .. 💀
@@M.A909she literally said she wasn’t blind..
@@M.A909 bro I think you need to reread the sentence? either that or you’re just stupid
or being rude👁️👄👁️
@@M.A909she literally said she isnt blind… albinism isnt an eye disease if youre confused. Its a lack of melanin which is why the girl in the video is pale with white hair. Beautiful disease but unfortunately a very awful one. I believe it has more issues along with it (one being you cant be in the sun unless you have tons of protection spf shirts and an umbrella wont do it.)
I shop by colour and shelf placement. I've come home with surprise products when the store shuffles things or a brand updates packaging. Awesome glasses and I love the simplicity.
As a sighted person I’ve never been too big a fan of smart glasses, but I could absolutely see where they could be absolutely game changing for non-sighted people in certain situations like this!
I always see people commenting “who even needs this”, “this is a stupid product”, and “lazy just do…” on assisted products like electric can openers and stuff like these glasses. Like maybe if a product sounds dumb it’s not designed for you! Abled people finding a out the entire world doesn’t necessarily cater to them 😮
(Not directed at you at all btw I was agreeing with you that this product is so useful for it’s intended audience)
@@daisies9368 I get you, and you make a great point. Honestly I wouldn’t have thought of myself as being an abled person in this situation but I suppose you’re right in that I am able-eyed, and while I would like to think that I have some amount of understanding in also having a disability they really aren’t comparable at all… apologies if I do come off as though I’m a bit ignorant, but I mean I kinda am…. Honestly I mostly just think it’s really cool that this product that wasn’t originally really even designed with accessibility in mind, at least to my knowledge, that was otherwise kind of a pointless product to the average able-eyed consumer has been able to be adapted into an assistive device for a part of the disabled community in such a way as to potentially allow them to be autonomous in ways that they might not be able to so well with other assistive devices…
@@daisies9368 one the really annoyed me was a few years ago, a lady did reviews on a few "useless products", I don't remember who she was or what most of them were, but one of them was a device to help put socks on, and she said it was just lazy and pointless
I thought nothing of it really at the time, other than knowing she was wrong, but now I'm disabled and can't reach my own feet, and remembering her review struck a new nerve when I realised just how gut wrenching it can be to hear your disability aids called "lazy"
Curious why your not a fan of smart glasses? Why not? (Genuinely curious)
Honestly though soooooo many possibilities would almost put service dogs out work except for the fact dogs provide the mobility part of all possible problems they would encounter like leading, bringing items and such.
Those glasses are amazing! I'm so pleased there is useful tech like this that makes your life a little easier
She could have just smelled them
@@rebelagainstthebluessometimes dairy products smell similar. And maybe both are new and she didn’t want to unseal the wrong one. And maybe they’re not that type of people who like to be that close to something that everybody shares.
Those glasses probably cost at least $3000 and do what an app and cheap smartphone could do.
@@rebelagainstthebluesit’s egg whites, they don’t smell like much
I know you said it’s extra steps to get the apps etc. - this isn’t a solution, you just reminded me of an app called be my eyes. sighted people can sign up to get video calls from people who need help with a certain task. I had one guy call to help match his red socks up for a social event. He probably doesn’t remember but I’ll never forget! ❤
We are signed up to that. Only ever had 2 calls but it feels great to help someone out like that and it only takes a couple of minutes of your time.
i'm also signed up for that - helped someone identify their milk. i can understand not wanting human interaction so that makes sense.
but there are apps that do the same thing these glasses do but don't require extra tech. that's what i'm confused about.
Is that a paid position?
@@OnlyLoveIsWelcome no, it’s just on a volunteer basis!
I didn't know this existed. You inspired at least one other person to download and volunteer
Thats cool my brother reads braille so we have labels in braille on things for him.
thats even cooler❤❤
I live in the same time as Braille label makers ??? That is so cool!!
Why don't companies print Braille on their products automatically?
Opening and smelling them does the same thing 😂😂
For these two, yes, other senses would work, but that’s not always the case. Perhaps they both just came from the store and are sealed and you don’t want to open the wrong one since that exposes it to air and could start a timer on a product that needs used quickly after opening. Or you also might have two different varieties of milk - perhaps a pint of milk and a pint of whipping cream which would smell the same.
not everyone has a good sense of smell 💀
@@catsaregreat6314 then the method of smelling doesn't apply to them
@@katherineannerivera1926 this is an ad for the glasses so yeah, but it's also not realistic that someone with visual impairment would always have them or wear them 24/7. In certain situations yes, but in this situation, it's easy to make the assumption they're both open in the fridge. If one wasn't open, then there you go. If they both were already opened prior, smelling would be just as efficient without technology necessary. It helps but this video doesn't feel the most realistic to how someone would be doing this in their day to day unless they went and grabbed them or was wearing them and again, the person has to even own a pair to begin with. Usually it's a text reader app. Milk and whipping cream do not smell the same. Especially to someone missing their visual sense. Also in the US at least, most foods kinda fit certain colors. She knew it was red and green. I know that's not the end all be all, but most dairy or similar drinks are reds/blue/and pinks. Baking items (as the eggs would be considered) are usually green/yellows/and orange. She knew that so it's another way to say smelling would be streamline but that's my opinion
Why open something that doesn't need to be opened? Also, not everyone has a great sense of smell
That is absolutely amazing. What an innovation of technology to be able to help people who are not as sighted as others.❤❤
She’s beautiful 😮❤ and she has a beautiful voice too! So calmly and soft
omg!!! i know her!!! congrats ashleigh ❤
Her: explaining how she uses Envision glasses to see.
Me: *listening but also way too invested in that mug* 😂
Also your jumper is super cute 🤗
SAME!!!!!
This is interesting. Ive never seen anyone with this particular issue. Ofcourse it exists i just personally havent come accross it. Happy to see there are things to help aid you in life.
You’ve never seen a blind person?? Her ‘particular issue’ is that she can’t see….its not an uncommon thing…??
@@erinmcclain2088 not with this type of blindness. Blindness is a spectrum I have glaucoma and am slowly going blind but it's not the same thing she has or even someone that would have gotten sick as a kid and gone blind from that. Blindness due to albinism is not something you hear of very often.
Those glasses are very cool. Would smelling it help?
First thought.
I'm sure it would at home. But I think this was more of an example of how the tech works. You can't always smell stuff. Grocery stores tend to frown on people opening cartons just to take a sniff. It would also probably be more awkward to film in the grocery store as well.
@@sortaamy3003 upon inspection of the description this is an undisclosed advertisement for the product. She didn't verbally say it's an ad, she doesn't really say in the description either. Just has a link and verbiage that sounds like it's sponsored.
I LOVE THIS!!!! Ability aids are the coolest and im so glad there's so many new and improving ones out there these days!!!!
Those glasses and your mug are so cool!
Those glasses are so awesome. Very helpful.
You could simply smell it ;)
What if you’re trying to tell the difference between half and half and heavy cream?
What about canned goods? You can’t exactly open those to check
That's my first instinct
@@Its_just_marywell they're not cans so
In this case, if she smelt it should would know instantly not to put the egg whites in her coffee 😂
Wow these glasses seem amazing! And way more convenient/efficient/easy to use! I hope they become more easily and readily available for anybody who needs them soon.
That mug is the cutest thing!!! I'm in awe🥹🫣
This makes me happy to see. I love to see when technology is doing a great jod in supporting a simplified life. ❤❤❤ I look forward to seeing more from you. Hope your having a happy safe life. ❤ Im now subscribed❤
Omg! This is so cool! I’ve never heard of this before. Thank you for sharing
She has such a lovely voice
That's so cool 😱 I love when technology can help out.
This is amazing. And (respectfully) you are so pretty!
I love this! I'm sighted, but have an uncle who isn't. This would be an excellent option to help him navigate unfamiliar territory (not literally, but figuratively). I don't even hate that this was technically an advertisement. Cool!
Maybe it’s allot to ask but I would get small braille stickers for my kitchen items especially if I had a family member with vision issues. Sure the $1000+ glasses help
It's so cool seeing the stuff science has come up with to try and give people with disabilities the same chance at life as able bodied people it's genuinely fascinating because unless you're going through it you wouldn't think twice about it.
YOOO THATS THÉ GIRL FROM KIN OF QUEENS.
Your amazing
Amazing technology. Thank you for sharing. Big hugs.😊❤
What a brilliant invention!!
This is super useful out and about, but I’d definitely just open and sniff. Can help prevent consuming spoiled things too
Oh you are so adorable and your voice is so crisp ❤
You have a super cute mug❤ Have a nice day
i love the mushroom mug
That mug is sooo cute though
Those glasses are awesome
I got the Mets RayBans . They are perfect for things like this.
They should have brail raised on the boxes and bottles that's the same color as the writing or bottle so it blends in and can go over for saving space
What a subtle add.
wow you’re so beautiful. your voice has something really unique about it i can’t put my finger on that makes it so insanely pretty to hear. i could listen to a whole audiobook narrated by u
You mom could cut a small notch in the top of the half and half or put one of those rhinestones stickers to help differentiate them.
Why not just smell them
That works if open but if they aren't open yet that could lead to spoiling foods which she doesn't want to do e.g. opening something that was for dinner tomorrow but it's a consume immediately labelled thing etc. Also our smell and taste also have visual cues so potentially depending on the products make not have distinct smells. Milk vs egg whites isn't potently different and without the visual cue you potentially couldn't tell the difference...these are both mild/barely any smell... sure the chicken broth from last time that could have worked with because very different kinds of smells. Her nose isn't always going to be able to tell but these glasses will never fail to identify for her.
Plus she's showing off a product that helps her. Personally I think it's really cool and if you apply that to things that she couldn't just use smell would be really useful e.g. cleaning products - don't really wanna be sniffing those.
Nice video! I totally understand the needs of devices like that 👍. But one question: why don't you smell the cartons? In this case, it would be convenient, wouldn't it?
That’s really neat!
I would put those is different places in the fridge before someone came over if they have a hard time seeing so they know where to reach and grab to get the right thing. I just tell them where it is in the fridge if I know they'll use it.
WOW!
Those are great
Im sure so helpful !
You are beautiful!!!
Before she put the glasses on(which are very cool) I was thinking she was just gonna smell them 😂
"Can you SEE the problem?"
Yes. Yes I can. Lol
Wooooow I learn so much on this app
Smelling the container helps too
Her: I just put on my envision glasses and use the camera
Me: that's a pair of the failed google glass that I wanted as a kid
She should do Asmr but like fairy cosplay 🥰🖤 she’s so pretty 😍
That is so cool! I didn't know those glasses existed 😅
That is so cool!!!
Super cool!!
Wouldn't it be great if the companies who make products like this could print braille on them? Like we (in parts of Europe) print braille on all medications. It's not that hard to be a bit more inclusive.
Love that there is tech out there that helps people though
She's so pretty
Glad to see again you have impeccable taste, I was elated to see what I have dubbed ‘the drink song’. It’s on my own personal playlist and I was enamored by it immediately upon listening so that was exciting
Smell probably work too in some cases but those glasses are so cool
not everyone has a good sense of smell 💀
Ive also seen this lady named Lucy who is blind use a sort of digital pen that reads the labels for her :)
This is amazing!
I might be lazy but I'd probably just open it and give it a sniff
not everyone has a good sense of smell 💀
That’s incredible
I want that mushroom mug
I have that mug too 🥰🍄
You could open them and smell them. 👍
Wow that's super cool!
Brail on thw package would also help alot i bet..
Thissss is what AI should be used for not making “art” or “music”❤
I’m just wondering if the glasses don’t help you see, wouldn’t it be more beneficial to have something similar and less bulky as a necklace? That and so it’s more accessible
So cool 😎
If you're just visiting, you can open and smell them? Pretty sure you can catch the difference between broth and milk 😅
How about opening them and smelling them? Or pour a tiny bit in a glass and taste it?
Curious and honest question. Can you smell the difference between them if you opened them? Seems easier than pulling out the glasses
So interesting
Are the glasses comfortable? Also what if the packaging has fancy font? I love the glasses but I’d also love to know more!
You could open the carton and smell it too. :)
This is cool
My first thought when seeing her was “she is beautiful” .
I am asking an honest question so please don’t get mad. Can you not smell check the cartons? Is the nose also affected if that’s the case? I understand glasses for blind but again just asking.
thats soo cool❤
Cooooool😮
Could you also open both and smell them
Just smell it?
In this case, just smelling them would be enough. But I get where they're coming from
Sounds very cool but why not smell?
Where does one get that mug?❤
What if you got textured stickers for the tops? Or put different rubber bands around the jars to help a lil?
You could also just open and smell them?
I freeze thing that I make often I don't know what is in them as I don't label them and use the same cartons ... I just sniff 😅
Would be really nice if they just put braile on the box. I dont understand why it isnt on everything
Now see here, my mom would just tell me to taste it before pouring it into my coffee😭
Nice
Smell it 😊
huh? how is pulling out your phone + opening an app more work than pulling out + putting on the glasses, going through what seems to be the same amount of steps?
preference i understand. but more//less work? what am i missing?
I love technology!!!
I get this is to promote the glasses but i hope you have simpler ways to deal with this issue, like put an embossed sticker on the cap so you dont need to use anything but your hands to check each following use.
i mean you could also smell it. eggs have a pretty distinct smell against milk
Is she from that show with the pageants?!? Not toddler in tiaras but the one with the sisters and mom as the team?? I can’t remember the name.
The one is egg beaters that would be terrible in your coffee
