CAI conversion MAS 49/56 Range Review

This is the first range trip for this #mas49 with the goal to get on steel at 300. The CAI conversions aren't the most reliable. Off the bat, the barrel is mounted almost OK, but not fully centered on the front sight. What else would you expect when they cut off 19mm of barrel? But, it's kindava rare rifle and I want to own it for the experience. I think the rechambering allows us to enjoy it quite economically, as the French round is unavailable. Let me know what insights you have on this rifle.

I kept mine original French 7.5 and modified the firing pin to reduce slam fire. Great simple gun! Solid.
