    Everyday... like a water drop hitting a rock... my confidence in the old Libertarian establishment is wearing away. This belittling and demeaning of the people as "fools" who don't have a clue and don't know what they want, will need to be accounted for... Also to even insinuate that a statist like Marco Rubio would be a good choice is a complete fallacy.

    I'm a Leftie feminist but I've always had a soft spot for PJ. We disagree on everything politically but he's a decent fellow and his best work is hilarious.Holidays in Hell is one of the funniest books I've ever read. In his heyday I found him rather sexy too. 😁

    17:30. I agree Trump isn't a small government guy, but the xenophobia card is really getting old. People have a legitimate gripe about illegal immigration and shouldn't be written off as racists and xenophobes.

      Adrift: As are a lot of us libertarians. We question ourselves daily, hourly. It is not a popular thing to do. It is hard and there aren't a lot of us. It's lonely and difficult. This is why it is valuable. Easy is not necessarily valuable.

    For generations the legitimacy of the authority of U S government federal and state rested on the people's devotion to the Constitution. Today, the legitimacy of government authority rest solely on the fairness of the election system. But the election system is not fair
    enough to support the notion of rule by consent. The regime has undermined itself; all it needs is a shove. Who will push? Libertarians?

    Rand Paul should have gone "full Ron" during the campaign but instead he turned himself into a boilerplate republican and blended into the back ground, he should have gone after Trump from the right and called him out on his leftist economic protectionism.

    How a Libertarian/ conservative could think that in a world were drastic change is needed to right the ship. Holding serve with Hillary and hoping for better days ahead was the prudent move. That thinking is what has gotten us into this mess to begin with. It takes a guy like Trump to force a course change. He is the only one who can shrug off the arrows and still steam strait ahead. Trump was not my choice. but he is showing us he was the right choice.

    • @bobsoldier2551
      @bobsoldier2551 7 років тому +6

      But... that makes no sense? How is change in the opposite direction from the desired outcome desirable? Change isn't necessarily *good*. The world being destroyed is change, you can't just want change.

    How many people who only make $1.50 a day, need a lot more than that? Of course, any place I have been if you only got $1.50 a day you live on the street. You can make $150.00 a week and still be on the street Even $1500.00 a month wouldn't get you a nice life, you might get by, if nothing bad happens.

    Nothing truer spoken:
    "Be immersed in the history of civilization, you know, in literature, in the arts," he says. "You're going to be force-marched through these things. Some of it's going to be boring. Some of it you won't appreciate for another 40 years, but it's that college liberal arts education, is the last chance you really get to [immerse yourself in art, music, and culture]."
