Friendly word of advice, don't winch from that bumper if it's mounted using the body lift brackets. The brackets aren't strong enough and will break. You've added a 3" lever arm to the bumper by using those brackets so when you winch off it the bumper will have more leverage on the stock and the body lift mounts and something will break, most likely the body lift bumper mounts.
@@Carfleet I'd say your best bet would be to cut the factory bumper mount off completely, then weld on some ¼" plate the height you need it, and then gusset the plate back down to the frame, it's a fair amount of work but it's the safest and strongest way to do it. Relying on a 1/8" or 3/16" stamped steel bracket designed strictly to hold the weight of the stock bumper and nothing else will end with you're new winch and bumper getting pulled off
@@Carfleet you'd be much better off with the bumper mount being one piece, even if you gusset the body lift mount to the frame its still two different pieces of plate the bumper is mounted to. Could it work if you welded the bracket to the original frame mount and gusset it to all hell? Maybe? But to do it right you'd want to cut all the junk off and put in some fresh ¼" plate and gussets, that will for sure keep your winch and bumper attached to your truck as long as you lay down some quality welds.
This is why I put actual thought into making my bumper for my ram. 2" tubing quarter inch thick welded to the frame after I welded quarter inch plate to the frame for support. I just got the winch for it yesterday. It came out so sick
@@Carfleet I just cut quarter inch plate like 4 by 4 inch square and welded it all the way around to the frame anywhere a support meets up to the frame. Same for the sliders and bumper. I work with metal every day for a living, and have gone to welding school. It's really sort of an order of operations thing. You basically have to work from the frame out, but one of the good things about working with metal you can cut some off or weld more on. I'm working on making the metal mount for my winch today. Everything is made from raw materials right in my driveway.
I dig the new setup. Can't wait to see the light pods installed on there aswell as the winch! Word of advice.. in my opinion I would make use of the already drilled holes on the new bumper to have the light pods popping though & have a more clean and flush look. I think that would look sick! 🔥
relocate your license plate to the bumper face, and bolt it on, instead of zip ties.. With it being that low, and not securely attached you could get a "a $109 no front plate fine" (I got one for having zip ties holding my front plate on, even though it was center of the bumper)
Not sure if u got winch already i just got a zeak 1300 for under 400 on amazon its good work well not sure if some thing u might br interested in looking in to
Great video…shows real world problems and the troubles to resolve them. Well done for filming it all instead of editing it out!
Thank you!

Ya good point I might have to weld some stuff to reinforce

What if I gusset it back from the mount right now to the frame
