I picked these guys up last week and I could not be happier. The faces went into storage due to the reports of the faces not staying on. The bot modes are super poseable though and the transformation with no partsforming is very well done.
Agree on all accounts.
The Killing Joke is one of the best reads I have ever had. I managed to pick a copy up a a few years back. The Joker is by far my favorite comic book character ever created.

I really never took a look at these other videos. Once I got the Ft version. I didn't see the reason. But now it's cool to see these old vids and be happy with the choice I made.

Nice review. I like a big chunky reflector. Very G1. I also like how you are getting stuff from all directions now to review. Goes to show that you don't have to sell out to get to take a look at some cool stuff you may not have thought of getting.

I have the PE Assault Force X version, and I love them! I really want the MakeToys version, but I suspect I won't get nearly as much fun out of fiddling with them as I do the Perfect Effect trio. Tiny robots packing big fun, those guys!

Lol. I hear you. I always hated the toy design as a kid. I was like "these look nothing like reflector lol"
It is reflector 100% but it doesn't seem fun, not in the slightest. But what's crazier is that I love LOVE the perfect effect version and those little expensive guys are super entertaining. Some times accessories do make the difference.

Great review, we love this set. Might also get FT but these were a must have, MT are getting better and better. I am very interested to see how their new Seeker and Megs moulds come out too.

anyway, in my opinion (which amounts to nothing), the Perfect Effect set is still the best of all the Reflectors. i know i criticize PE for making their figures difficult to fiddle around with, but the way their Reflector utilizes every single accessory into the final camera is (to this day) an amazing feat of toy engineering.

I like Maketoys a lot so I'm not sure if it's better than I expected but the figures themselves (not the transformation lol) are more fun than I was expecting. Thanks man.

Nice review. I'm not a fan of the 'swim cap' look they have for heads. For me, it'll either by KFC or Fans Toys. I dig that KFC is going for more of a G1 toy look, but I know FT will be higher quality with nice heavy die-cast. I actually don't mind the partsforming b/c it'll mean they clean up better in robot mode.

Only figure number 2 for Maketoys "master piece" series (re-master) , yet do they have the right to bear the term "master piece". I am impressed with Cupola and feel as though he fits the term. How do you feel about this direction for Maketoys?
I love the direction but don't feel they're at mp level just yet
Looks like a nice set , however I'm going to wait to see what happens with Fans Toys . When FansToys , always FansToys.

this was the only 3rd party reflector to get the shape of the feet right
Did you review the Maketoys one? Other reviewers say they prefer Maketoys but the proportions on this one look more G1 accurate to me. Further, since you say the work great as action figures, and I like complex transformations, I think this is the set for me. There is also a KFC one coming out, I just saw, but the colors look off. This looks straight out the cartoon.
+DopePoetsDotCom this is the make toys one, i will be looking at the fanstoys one in the next couple of weeks i know its crazy having to keep track of these 3p names. you could wait a week or two and then make your decision or buy this one, this one is good so theres no worries there
Sorry for getting it backwards. From the reviews I've seen I like this (maketoys) one better, but other reviwers are saying they prefer fans toys. I'll wait and see what you say before I pick one. There is also a KFC one coming out which is cheaper. But I want whichever is BEST.

If the button did make that g1 reflector "click" if their was some type of light up feature if they had thrown in some type of tripod------------ too bad fans project will be better

Btw on latest SCU I heard u messed around with TFC Ares and was wondering if you will be reviewing that? I can only imagine the outcome of that review haha. Keep up the good work Skullface.
Yes sir. I have a series of videos for that set. And I get sent to an anger management specialist for that week. It's scheduled for a week where I'm on vacation. Sometime in October.

Bobby Skullface L Nice! ... speaking of "not my favorite" I must admit I wasn't a big fan of your videos even when I subbed I would just gloss over your uploads unless the item was interesting. BUT I MUST SAY the last few videos allowed me to see that you are a "Solid and Honest, no BS reviewer" and you are now my go to transformer reviewer! Keep up the great work sir! never really cared for these characters honestly. always thought they were lame.
I hear you. I was always fascinated with them as a kid. The toys were hard to get and looked so different. Always wanted a proper set.
I feels like to grab MT's ear and screams: more paint!!! If you want it to be masterpiece like, don't give me plain molded plastic on like 90% of the bot.
Yea it seems like guys that appreciate paint are a dying breed
