I love this character, not because of his personality on the cartoon but because it's one character, 3 bots and one camera, that does it for me and I can't explain why. I already have the KFC version, I'm after the Maketoys and the Fans Toys versions being that the last one is very expensive in the after market. In my opinion, each version has it's qualities and defects. All of them are good transforming action figures but I believe Takara will eventually release the best one, in the mean time I will try to get my hands on every single version I can, both in Masterpiece and Legend scale. Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface.
I was actually on the fence between Maketoys and Fantoys versions of Reflector, but leaning towards Fantoys til I caught this review... Which is actually funny, cause I never even thought to give KFC a thought given past reviews.... But, you actually sold me on KFC's version after seeing this review...GREAT JOB! [ I actually ordered mines today!]
I heard their next figure folds up entirely into the forearms. Amazing! ;) Also, Benscollectibles has a review of the Junkions. They actually looks really good.
I opted for these guys over the other offerings mainly because of the price point, I don't think anyone could argue that you are getting more than your money's worth with these guys. Not crazy about the guns and they're a smidge on the large side but I think they're great. As always excellent vid bro.
This set gives me hope for the up coming Junkion bots. They do look really good (the junkions, this reflector set looks decent but fanstoys wins for me). Always thought the planet of junk was Unicrons toilet. Great review and fingers crossed for the Junkion bots (from kfc).
I love these. They meet my aesthetic needs, they are heftier than FT and MT, and they are only $110 compared to FT/MT at $155 and $145. Plus those ratchets are easily some of the best like you said. Hopefully KFC maintains the momentum and keep improving.
Mr. Skullface, great review as always. Question if I may, I've heard you comment a few times that you are tired of pulling hands from forearms and was curious as to what you would like to see different, from the engineering side. What if they were plugged onto the legs and attached with magnets or something? Just curious, thank you for what you do!
I understand and wasn't being critical, just curious. Even though it was my idea, I do kind of like the magnets, if it could be done right, magnets could really change the very nature of transforming figures... At least that is what I'm thinking...😊
You reviewed these guys way early on in the piece? Seemed to have improved alot. .. As much as I dislike Kieth I think this may be my 3rd party 3rd purchase :). 9 reflectors? Why not?
Huh, this actually looks pretty good, especially for KFC. A shame about the stress marks though, that sucks. If I ever find the funds/space for an MP collection I'll be going Maketoys though. You know what's really sad about a lot of KFC/XTransbots products? The engineering and design work is top shelf, but the tolerances and often the materials are just all over the place. Still, with the vast improvements they've been making, soon I reckon they'll be a genuine competitor in the 3P market. If they do get their QC/tolerance problems sorted I'd like to see them re-release improved versions of their older products.
I had Maketoys reflector, it was decent, didn't like the dull look of it not being painted. I also didn't like the shoulder pads, they would pop off. The camera mode was decent, but a little bulky. I wound up selling it. I didn't care for Fanstoys version at all, after your review of it; i was disappointed. The Fanstoys camera mode wasn't true to G1 color wise. I personally think this KFC version is the best one yet. I know you mentioned that the blue on the shins weren't the right shade, but at least they attempt to make it the shade to make it G1 accurate. The other two companies didn't attempt it. And KFC's camera mode seems more G1 accurate, which I love. I do agree that the back pack of the middle one is an eye sore, but I don't plan on displaying my figures with their backs facing forward. For me, it's KFC for the win.
It's been hectic with the move I'm finally catching up on these and other videos. I never thought this looked like a bad set but KFC reputation alone is the sort of thing that keeps me away. Well that and fans toys being an option
I got the impression you were winging it at first. Ignore me. Great review. I like that the KFC reflector doesn't have the chin beard and looks more like the cartoon heads. That's about all I've got for a comment though. Keep up the great work.
adding my two cents, i do believe the look works best with kfc. the kfc one is the only one where it looks like it can be modded to be just about perfect. unfortunately modding is an important practice in 3p nowadays.
Idk if I mentioned this Herr or from a different reviewer, but it would be cool if someone could make a functional, Transformable Reflector that could actually take pictures, so that when you Transform it, could surprised alot of people. Especially if someone was like...."YOU BROKE IT!!" lol When you actually didn't. =P
great review again Bobby. I swear I feel like a dick cuz I always have something to say. however on the feet, there is a rotation inside the leg at the ankle that ultimately gives the foot a longer "footprint" so to speak. this would help with the back heavy thing as heel spur sit further out from the leg. if that make sense.
No worries man. Never a big deal. Only thing that would bother me would be if one of the corrections happened to be a criticism I had with the figure. Than I'd feel like a ripe ass lol.
Great review (only had time for final thoughts, tho!)! Are you skimming the cheap plastic issue? KFC toys (in my experience) are made from some flimsy plastic that just stresses like crazy - the last toy I bought (Doubledeck) had stress marks from GO! And the plastic, like usual, felt REALLY brittle. I want to emphasize that because I think KFC is saving a nickel on the cheaper material, BUT not giving you the benefit of that cost reduction (you're paying more for less). Considering the similar price of these Reflectors, I think KFC should be your LAST choice - you're definitely going to overpay for this and get a toy made out of cheaper plastic. :(
Bobby Skullface L Aren't you splitting hairs? :) Maybe a stronger, higher quality plastic wouldn't be as brittle, OR they need to stop making everything wafer-thin (as you suggest). Either way, it's alarming that fans aren't more vocal about just how fragile KFC pieces are. The only thing more surprising is that they outlasted Impossible Toys, whose thin plastic closely resembled that of KFC.
I've been wondering, after watching all your TF vids have I spent more than 1 hour watching you pull plastic hands out of plastic forearms? LIFE WELL SPENT! Its easy to hate on KFC but they do seem to be making an effort to improve, and I want them to do it. No-one ones an inferior toy at the end of the day. I'm also in for Wreck Gar, but can't justify a 2nd Junkion. Awesome review, thanks Bobby.
You mention the 3 different choices for Reflector but why not Hasbro/Botcon's EXCLUSIVE.!!!!! You know, the 3 legends class Shockwaves LMAO!!! Now we have 4 choices to pick from.
I think they look like three depressed Buzzlightyears crammed together into a camera
Lol
ha I never noticed that before
LMAO

hahaha see, somebody tell keith im not out to ruin his day lol
I had the g1 reflector and compared to today's options, it's pretty lackluster to say the least. Excellent review!
Hahaha definitely.
I'm starting to associate your theme song with the act of spending money. The honest reviews help keep it in check though. Thanks Skullface!
Hahahaha
I heard their next figure folds up entirely into the forearms. Amazing!
;)
Also, Benscollectibles has a review of the Junkions. They actually looks really good.
Hahahaha
Great review... Big Reflector fan. Got the MT and FT.
Nice!

Thanks man
my brother liked this toy and video!! great review!! as per usual dude!!!
Thank you miss thang lol
Omg...... lol best one yet!!! My brother wanted to know if you are going to review junkions???b
This set gives me hope for the up coming Junkion bots. They do look really good (the junkions, this reflector set looks decent but fanstoys wins for me). Always thought the planet of junk was Unicrons toilet. Great review and fingers crossed for the Junkion bots (from kfc).
Indeed
I am only 7 minutes in, and I am sooooo glad that I got Fanstoys Spotter.
Nothing better than enjoying your purchase.
And a rip out of your wallet. They are very expensive.
I love these. They meet my aesthetic needs, they are heftier than FT and MT, and they are only $110 compared to FT/MT at $155 and $145. Plus those ratchets are easily some of the best like you said. Hopefully KFC maintains the momentum and keep improving.
Let's hope. I'm in for those junkions
GOOD! NIGHT! tough choice! aesthetically KFC won me over. I'm impressed. many thx for great review!
Thanks for watching
Mr. Skullface, great review as always. I really just say it as a joke because everyone does it. But every now and then we see it done a bit more unique like mp tracks or Maketoys hound
I understand and wasn't being critical, just curious. Even though it was my idea, I do kind of like the magnets, if it could be done right, magnets could really change the very nature of transforming figures...
At least that is what I'm thinking...😊
+Tom White Survivor123 oh yea man no worries whatsoever. And yea I'd love to see magnets used more regularly especially with weapons and trailers
Another good review. So which one will have the priviledge to stand on your MP display shelf? ☺️
Thanks man. Fanstoys.
another great review. what's your favorite set?
Fanstoys suits my collection best
Thanks for now the information
You reviewed these guys way early on in the piece?
Seemed to have improved alot. ..
As much as I dislike Kieth I think this may be my 3rd party 3rd purchase :). 9 reflectors? Why not?
I'm probably going to do the same, I think they are all great for troop building.
I had the opportunity to look at the prototype but ended up not doing a review of it. It was in tough shape
Huh, this actually looks pretty good, especially for KFC. A shame about the stress marks though, that sucks. I agree. I'm looking forward to their junkions

I think ft nailed the shin color personally. I hear you on everything else
great review! Glad you enjoyed him!
Thanks man
You should get the war for Cybertron seige refractor I think you will find the transformation alot easier
Thanks Bobby. Fair review.
Thanks for watching man
I’m going kfc with the new metallic release over FT and MT
Where's the stress mark song?? Or is that only for Warbotron's stuff? So to speak.
Hahaha I'll have to use it more often
Excellent review Uncle Skullface. Now take a break from Reflectors!
I'd like to lol
is kfc that old chicken place krispy fried chicken if so where can i get this?
Great reviews of Reflector wars, Bobby! I, personally, got me a Perfect Effect Reflector. They are cute little buggers!
That's a great set as well
It's been hectic with the move I'm finally catching up on these and other videos.
I never thought this looked like a bad set but KFC reputation alone is the sort of thing that keeps me away. Well that and fans toys being an option
Totally get that sentiment
Cute bots, but transformations were hard to watch!
Someone should do a montage of every MP/3P hand/head reveal, that sh*t'd get tons of views (by me)
Hahahaha
"Once you get it out, it'll come"
So to speak
I really like the aesthetics. I do however like the FT version because they are the right size. This version seems way to tall.
I think it all comes down to how one remembers the characters. But I agree with you.
+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L derp derp scale chart derp derp animation. derp seeker nipple height derp derp derp
Did you have a copy of the instructions?
I think so. This question seems like a trap lol
I got the impression you were winging it at first. Ignore me. Great review. I like that the KFC reflector doesn't have the chin beard and looks more like the cartoon heads. That's about all I've got for a comment though. Keep up the great work.
+Rod Hannah hahaha all good man. And thanks
adding my two cents, i do believe the look works best with kfc. the kfc one is the only one where it looks like it can be modded to be just about perfect.
unfortunately modding is an important practice in 3p nowadays.
2 cents are always welcomed here
if I buy a third party reflector I am going to go the classics route and get the perfect effect one
It can be pricey trying to find it. Good luck!
Jason Reyes believe me I know
He's a fun piece
Idk if I mentioned this Herr or from a different reviewer, but it would be cool if someone could make a functional, Transformable Reflector that could actually take pictures, so that when you Transform it, could surprised alot of people.
Especially if someone was like...."YOU BROKE IT!!" lol When you actually didn't. =P
I actually said the same thing in the review! That would have been so cool!
It would be, actually. 😎
great review again Bobby. I swear I feel like a dick cuz I always have something to say. however on the feet, there is a rotation inside the leg at the ankle that ultimately gives the foot a longer "footprint" so to speak. this would help with the back heavy thing as heel spur sit further out from the leg. if that make sense.
it also makes the foot look "accurate" with the ribbed front ankles... if that makes sense.
+gregformercy yrs, that is the part I was referring to be rotated. could think of the word to how it should look in the end. thanks for the help
No worries man. Never a big deal. Only thing that would bother me would be if one of the corrections happened to be a criticism I had with the figure. Than I'd feel like a ripe ass lol.
"this thing called film". brilliant lol
Lol
Does anyone else have trouble with their reflector ankles being so loose that the figure keeps falling backwards?
Great review (only had time for final thoughts, tho!)! Are you skimming the cheap plastic issue?

Considering the similar price of these Reflectors, I think KFC should be your LAST choice - you're definitely going to overpay for this and get a toy made out of cheaper plastic. :(
their plastic usually isnt an issue i think, its that they design thinner pieces and then the plastic cant withstand the manipulation of the design.
To me KFC knocked the camera mode out of the park while FT did the better bot mode.
I can see that
I've been wondering, after watching all your TF vids have I spent more than 1 hour watching you pull plastic hands out of plastic forearms? LIFE WELL SPENT!
Its easy to hate on KFC but they do seem to be making an effort to improve, and I want them to do it. No-one ones an inferior toy at the end of the day. I'm also in for Wreck Gar, but can't justify a 2nd Junkion.
Awesome review, thanks Bobby.
Hahahaha and yea I'm looking forward to the junkions
umm, hey Bobby....you misspelled "transformers" in your video title, its listed as "trasnformers".
Fixed. Thanks
For the record, I hate "It is what it is" too. Definitely a defeatist attitude.
Absolutely man
Say cheese!
Mmmmm cheeeeesse
They are too complicated to transform compared to the mail away G1 version.
We've come along way in 30 years
You mention the 3 different choices for Reflector but why not Hasbro/Botcon's EXCLUSIVE.!!!!! You know, the 3 legends class Shockwaves LMAO!!! Now we have 4 choices to pick from.
:-/ lol
+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L Crazy how much ppl are asking for that on ebay lol. Its a cool little Shockwave but HELLZ NAAW it aint no Reflector.
Ugh worst combiner ever, they don't even bother to give its gestalt form arms or legs
Hahahahaha
