I remember when the path under the bypass was flooded. A canal boat would have helped!!! I would suggest going by Burgh Road and Newtown Road at that stage, because slipping into the river at high water may be a bit hazardous to health. My father slipped down the embankment at Engine Lonning and broke some bone in his neck in the 60s. Amazing that the "new bridge " has been undermined?!!! I remember Hardwicke Circus underpasses being flooded a couple of years ago, too. Do you have to put your well-trained dog on the lead, with all the sheep and things on the way?
