Then the exports will go down dramatically since we wouldn't have raw material to value add our products. Thus the trade deficit will increase more than before.
You need imports for three things.
01. You need Imports to do business/ Manufacturing and exports the final goods
02. You need Imports to sustain the growing population. etc
03. You need imports as you lack some basic items that are specific more to some geographic areas.

When Sethi sahab gives his analysis about issues where he doesnt have a strong bias, he is quite decent. May be not accurate but amongst Pakistani analysts of global affairs, he stands out. Dear Mr. Sethi,
You have commented on the Middle East issue in an oversimplified way.
You didn’t go in detail in the intricacies of the whole issue and dynamics of the whole region. You think that the decisions which Iran is taking is independent of any consultations with its allies, like Russia and China. You didn’t touch that aspect at all. You didn’t mention that Iran is the member of SCO and whatever decisions Iran would take, it will be certainly after discussing the strategy with Russia and China.
You didn’t mention the Ukrainian war and possible strategy cobbled together by SCO members to open a second front in order to check American/European military aid coming to Ukraine in order for enabling Ukrainian to keep fighting with Russia and sap its energy so that when the collective west turns towards China, Russia will not be in a position to come to its help and it will be left out smarting its wounds.
In my humble opinion the SCO block has played a master stroke in making the Middle East region hot and leaving the collective west mired in supporting Israel and stop the funding to Ukraine. This is exactly what has happened.
It has given a deathly blow to the collective west.
Now Ukraine is in a pretty bad shape and begging the west for resumption of military and economic aid. Ukraine is quickly loosing ground and Russia is advancing and is busy making the most of the current situation.
Iran will make sure to keep the Middle Eastern front simmering and not allowing America to shift its focus from Middle East to Ukraine.
After the Ukraine theater is done with Russia with tacit support of China partnering with Iran and its proxies will inshallah decimate Israel.
