Excellent video, very helpful, could you please suggest if using the string savers, how much decrease in tension should have have if doing 10x10?

Holy Moly Dude - wrt String Savers don't you feel that 8x8 is xtrm overkill not to mention 10x10?? IMO that makes the string bed feel so firm like 75 lbs!! Part of the joy & pleasure of tennis is ability to "feel" the ball on your string setup. Federer uses a total of only 10 string savers!! :)

Não, o objetivo é fazer com que o encordoamento não se abra e dura mais tempo.

my multifilament string shifts a lot. i installed several SS (tourna) alternating on the center vertical strings, probably about 30 in all maybe 35 mostly to stop shifting. i really felt better control and shots and actually found the racket played better . however, i added more to cover 12 of the 16 vertical strings most of their length (every other intersection) on all cross strings except bottom 2 and top 3 , probably about 70 total. Weirdly i feel like i've lost power and feel, feels kind of dead. What's going on here? Did i go overboard or is it my imagination? thx

You went overboard and tightened the string bed too much.

It might be an interesting experiment to intentionally string lower than desired and bring the tension up with string savers.

String savers also dampen striking feeling. That's why!

Hey,I have wilson duo power ( alu power and nxt power). Should I use string savers?

I usually dont use them if a poly is involved. I like the multi to slide on the poly a little bit. However, since NXT isnt too durable, it wouldnt hurt to ty it out to see if you notice any playability difference while getting increased durability.

Hey... thank you for all of your videos! I wanted to ask... I'm having my racquet strung with RPM Blast (18) in the mains and Head Velocity MLT in the crosses (17). Would installing string savers give me more slide and snap? Or at least make the slide and snap last longer? I just cut out a full bed of Head Lnyx Edge (17) after about 2 1/2 months. I play once or twice a week and I felt like I had lost the slide and snap because of the notches that had formed between the mains and crosses. Obviously I'm not a string breaker. :-) Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I really like both rpm blast and head velocity. i honestly prefer not to use string savers on hybrids unless durability is an issue. You shouldnt get much notching with that string setup. I think the slide and snap would be better without string savers in my view.

@@friscotennisshop8691 Awesome! Thank you! (I think I got the suggestion for velocity mlt from one of your vids) Thank you very much!

I’m breaking a full poly 16g strings in 2 days...in a head speed mp racket, should I use string savers to prolong the life of the strings? Or would going even thicker be better?

Did you try them? If so, how did they affect your spin potential? Thanks!

Head speed MP is notorious for breaking strings quickly especially for big hitters or high level players.
Try Gosen Polylon 16g, that could last me 20 hours and other durable strings like Tourbite would break in 8-10 hours.
Though be mindful, Gosen Polylon is actually quite rough and low powered

interesting: Federer does it only in the upper part of the racket (sweet spot) and only on every 2nd contact point, see at 4:46: ua-cam.com/video/Sny-3i8GgW4/v-deo.html

Fed does this out of habit and familiarity. He's certainly not trying to extend the playability of his strings (since he switches racquets several times a match).
