This was such a great time!!! Getting me amped up for this years trip! Thanks for the shout out and again, thanks for letting me rip the 700 for that evening ride!
For sure! Thanks for keeping the rubber side down 😆 not gonna lie.. I think it’s time we rip you’re warrior with the new set up and get a focused video on the channel 🤘
EPIC!!! Another great video from Hager! Man thank you for the shout out and adding in some of my POV. Thank you again for the sd card use and go pro wrench. It's not riding if you don't get some sand roost! lol. I think I still have some sand left over in my air cleaners after that LOL!!! Good times for sure. Can't wait for October. Look forward to some good rides and sand wars. Hey, I will message you about some ideas I have for sand wars, and I'm wanting to get a Hager/Duneman group ride, and a night ride in.
No reason to be sorry. Lol thats the fun part of riding and made for some cool footage! Single lane and nowhere to go lol! Epic rides! Just had to get the air cleaners shook out and was good to go. Im ready for october!
I just got my pete hager raptor t shirt and i was wearing last night at the smashing pumpkins concert and so many people loved the shirt i got so many compliments on it
I’m gonna have to do some testing with my GoPro for the best night settings. I plan to get the restoquad headlights for the raptor before the trip so hopefully they help quite a bit over the stockers
Great video Pete would love to get out there one day but until then we live through you and your videos going out for first time in northeastern pa next week 🤘🏻
Oh man I would LOVE 🙏 to ride in a quad group like this! I’ve never really had much friends who had quads growing up. I now am lucky enough to have 2 buddies who rode quads though and we have a good time! We just did a quad camping trip that is on my channel! One day I would love to make a trip out for a group ride!
I'm looking to get some sand tires for the front of my raptor, I'm split between the buffed and mohawk skat tracks. Will buffed be able to turn anywhere similarly to how it turns with knobby fronts?
The buffed tires are mainly to save weight from my understanding. I’ve never had any issues with handling while using mine. I do wish I had gone with a slightly taller front tire to increase my clearance but overall the skats are hard to beat
Hey Pete it looks like you love the power on your YFZ , I’m curious do you think you would ever consider modding it out and if so what are some of the things you would do?
I guess if I added more I would do some simple top end work. I’ve enjoyed having just the big 3 to retain as much reliability as possible. Once you start upping the power it tends to come with added maintenance in the long term lol
For your raptor are running the stock stem with a precision anti vibe clamp? I like how it sits low and not so high. If so which clamps are you running
It actually has a precision stem with their anti vibe clamps. The handlebars are pro taper contours in the ATV mid bend. I can’t remember if the stem is +0 or +1 unfortunately. I’m 5’10 and I like the slightly lower handlebar height so I can stand over the bars more 👍
@@PeteHager ok yea im gonna have to change the stem on my yfz-450 I don’t like how using the stock stem it raises it up to high, I like when the bars sit lower as well! Thanks for the info man! Hopefully see you out in buttercup sometime this year if you make the trip!
I’m pretty sure they sell them at the store by the entrance to the campground at the dunes. I know one of my thin flags is also from the badlands park in Indiana
How do u guys like the lot you stayed at I was there a few months back at the rat takeover hoping to have my bike fixed by the time the event is there and try to find ya
@@PeteHager the lot right by the entrance to the dunes looked super familiar but yea my yz250f crankshaft bearing went out and messed up the pistons walls and the crankshaft is bent so gotta replace all the internals pretty much
Hey Pete just wondering what rear paddles do you run on the raptor I’m trying to get better paddles I hear the skat trak extreme 9 paddles are good my set up digs I get stuck a lot no traction and tree shots are a nightmare any recommendations?
My skat traks are 7 paddle haulers and I have some traditional sand stars I like to run as well. I’m surprised you’ve had issues climbing with those tires. You have plenty of paddles and they should work well. Sometimes you can have too much tire for your power/set up. The skats are awesome for putting down the power but I prefer the sand stars for casual riding and sliding around
@@PeteHager right now I have some worn down sand stars I’m thinking about skat trak probably 22s I have 20 11 10s on it right now and there worn so would 7s or 9s work better in your opinion I have a aftermarket slip on a air filter a tuner and the no air box lid mod I know your raptor has a lot of power
This was from last October. We normally ride Thursday/Friday/Saturday. By Saturday the dunes are normally pretty choppy. I’m excited to go a couple weeks later this year, hopefully we get some cooler weather and dry sand 🤞🤘
@@PeteHager I’ll be out there mid October or November most likely as a Oklahoma native. Maybe another trip in December, probably the closest funnest place to ride.
Man i love your sportquad videos ! How do you think a 416ex big bore high compression , ported head and cammed 400ex would do out there in the dunes with some sand paddles ? Im from fl but working in Houston Tx. Its about 8 hours to little Sahara from where Im at. Keep up he awesome content bro 💪🏼
i dont know if anyone can answer this but i always wanted a raptor and im planning on getting one next month but i want to start a career in racing is it still possible to do so with the raptor going to open class races and save up for a yfz or banshee or what should i do, im all over the place and indecisive @PeteHager
Thanks for reaching out! Those are 3 totally different quads lol. I personally want a Banshee but they're a bit of a handful to ride and take more maintenance from what I've been told. The Raptor is very reliable, comfortable, and can be built to have plenty of power. Now that I've widened my Raptor and put long travel front suspension on it has solidified itself as my favorite do it all machine. If you have any specific questions or want my opinion on the YFZR vs the Raptor then this video explains my thoughts pretty thoroughly. ua-cam.com/video/Mi55WWwTxDc/v-deo.html 😊
@PeteHager could I still make a racing career out of a Raptor? Those other 2 I wanna get one day and I personally would like an 80s original banshee that would be my dream.
@@PeteHager I'm not inky going to be racing with the raptor I will be going through trails at home and as many places as I can go! And thank you so much for replying and helping me out
That banshee is too crispy
Just bought my 2024 700se can't wait to do a ride like this

You never been night riding?!?! Oh you gotta go! Completely different feeling!!!
Maaan, that red trx 450 at the end during the drags was flyin! awesome video.
I finally got it tuned to run strong again after struggling with an electrical issue for a couple years
@@cclarkie1 man that thing really is awesome what all do you have done to it?
Heck yeah hager. 👏

Can’t wait to get back out there!

That day was such a blur for me lol this year i will not be driving through the night 14hrs and then riding all day 😂. Better planning this year.
lovin this content!!
Wow it looks so nice to play in the sand dunes... Looks like you guys had lots of fun
That place looks epic! Great video!
Always happy to see more dune content! Would really love to see some night riding for the ride coming up!

I would love to check that place out sometime! Looks like another planet!
Watched your video at 3 AM. It’s now 430AM after I had an itch to rip. Oops. Sorry. It’s an addiction. When I can get the fix I get it. Nice video
Would love to come over to ride those dunes
I’ll see you there!

@815 OFF-ROAD… we gotta scope this place out
Te sigo desde España 💪🤣
This place looks absolutely awesome! Just need to get a more reliable truck. Not sure the ol 92 ranger is fit for that long if a trip lol

I want to know your preference which is the best the yfz or the raptor so far since you tried both of em
How the 4snow performing in the sand?
They work great in a straight line. The ballooned shape isn’t the best for sliding around though
