China is huge. Just because Shifu was willing to train Mantis, it doesn't mean all the kung fu teachers around China are the same (and at first Shifu actually did turn Mantis away). Some teachers are probably more traditional/narrow-minded than Shifu and thus rejected the Chameleon for her size. Not everyone gets the same treatment depending on who they meet. That's how life is, isn't it?

True heroes save villains from the boundless evil of their own making, especially something they are unable to control or to be set free. 😢
The Chameleon is a great villain. She is psychopath, narcisistic, manipulative and greedy who uses others like Zhen to do her biding, lies about her backstory to justify her actions, corrupts the art of Kung Fu by mixture it with sorcery and witchcraft, allies himself with Juniper City crime bosses to control the city and have a share of payment in tributes and to power herself even more, she dares to open a portal to the Spirit Realm to steal the chi and skills of ancient villains in order to have the Kung Fu mastery in the easy way. That's not hard to understand why nobody wanted to teach Kung Fu to the Chameleon because she already have that greedy desire for power and not because of her size because we already saw that even the smallest animals can be great Kung Fu masters like Mantis.
Zhen is a really bad written charackter, we are supposed to hate her at the beginning of the movie and finish it liking her. (it would be soooo mutch cooler if any old charackter would replace the position of po like tigris and not a random anyoing boring written charackter.)
Why is the Chameleon strongest in the Po form and a looser in theyr ultimate form, other main villains appear only for the plot of theyr existance, they do almost nothing for the story, they could have done sooo mutch more.
why does kai even exist??? where did the Chamaleon pull him out? out of the dead dead realm?

@@botzukthebot6003 Po had to test Zhen's heart to see if he could redeem her to be his apprentice and a possible sucessor to the Dragon Warrior title or if she was already too damaged by the Chameleon's bad mentorship that there was no way back, but Zhen standing against the Chameleon and free herself from her control proved that Po suceeded as a Spiritual Leader and changed Zhen from someone better, like Oogway also did with numerous characters like Monkey, Rhino, Ox and Croc who began in the wrong side of the law and changed to great Kung Fu masters through Oogway's advices. The Chameleon absorbed the chi to have the skills of the Kung Fu masters, but she didn't know how to used them the right way because she didn't learned how and instead combine them through sorcery and became an abomination of powers and transmutations that didn't fit with one another, like the Po's transformation spitting fire and with horns. In the case of Kai, he was banished alive by Oogway to the Spirit Realm and something changed him for being inside the Spirit Realm for to long and became a zombie like villain and when Po used the chi to defeat him, Kai finally died and became a spirit. The same also happened to Tai Lung who was banished alive to the Spirit Realm and he must have been killed by Kai to steal his chi and that's why he also appeared as a spirit. Shen died in the mortal world, so he already ended as a spirit in the Spirit Realm. The Cameleon didn't die and was taken alive to the Spirit Realm by Tai Lung, so she will be killed by the villains and end as a spirit or she will remain imprisioned in the Spirit Realm and slowly will become a zombie being like Kai was through 500 years. The fact that Tai Lung, Shen and Kai bow to Po in respect shows that they learned from their mistake of understimate Po in their previous battles that led to their defeats and Po seeing his three fomer main enemies perceiving him as a worthy opponent instead of a joke means a lot to him, because it's easy to get the respect of family and friends, but is a great achievement to get it from your adversaires.

No turbolids second comment is really good at explaining things. Yes the 3 past villains anknowledging po but zhen still feels like one of these forced in plot charackters.
Starts bad turns good.
(The va also played many of these charackters :/ making zhen feel even more like anoying)
They could have made her cooler in many ways, make her just straight up anoying and no redemption while she has cool moments that make up for her bad charackter.
Making a charackter one sided makes them easier to write exept you take it to seriouse and make a charackter a litteraly a 1 joke charackter than they become anoying.

The chameleon fight was one sided po won on both sides both as the villain and as the mc against chameleon in her big form.
For the record, the chameleon's motivate for being evil doesn't even make sense considering there's Master Mantis. AND HE'S WAYYYY! SMALLER THAN SHE IS. NO MOTIVATE

Should make sense if you think about why Tai Lung was denied to be the Dragon Warrior. Chameleon only thinks it's because of her size, except that it's not the actual reason. It's likely left for ones like us to figure and find out.

Zhen the fox makes such a fantastic team with Po, her whole vibe is hilarious.
Zhen's backstory, the revelation that she was actually "adopted" by the Chameleon - that's some juicy drama right there!
Po's dads saving him was such a wholesome moment, even if Po took it as a sign they didn't believe in him.
32:08 straight in the feels - 4 movies later and Kung Fu Panda proves it still has the magic in it.

It's definitely the weakest of the franchise by far. It has a lot of problems (lack of Furious Five, the Chameleon being a lackluster villain, waste of Shen and Kai), but the action scenes are still great as you would expect, Po and Zhen's chemistry works pretty well, and the animation is just as beautiful as the other three fllms. Oh, and Jack Black singing Hit Me Baby, One More Time at the beginning of the end credits is incredible though. Had a good time, but I hope the inevitable fifth film is better.
It's bad compared to the first 3 movies but it's pretty watchable.

I can tell you 2 ladies enjoyed this but ... these passing of the torch movies never work out in the long run.
Fans just want to see their original hero kicking butt forever. Look at James Bond for example they don't change him they just keep recasting. Batman is another great example of that.
