Hire a good lawyer and sue nature zen and the first landscaping company. You could also go after the first mudroom contractor and get a judgment against him but if he ghosted that’s kind of over. Worked in the legal field and this is unfortunately a major trend with contractors botching jobs and leaving them unfinished.

The mudroom contractor was probably passed because he had to sand the watermarks that Raven said may have been caused by Ziya. He would have been done.
@@abbe1abbe156 he took a few weeks to come back and finish the job. If he had came back sooner there wouldn't be any stains on the wood. I think she hired a professional so they could give solutions as these kind of things do happen.

That’s tradesmen in general, a good one is so hard to come across once you get one you hang onto them for years and then sometimes they can even become complacent

I live for her updates. I cringe every time something doesn't work out right and I feel for her always. I know how it feels to pay thousands for repairs or construction and folks just come in and practice mess with your vision and dreams. These updates let people see what can possibly go wrong (and right) and what you should look out for.

Hey Raven, just a suggestion. What if instead of the risers for the washer/dryer you create faux drawers to match the middle one. It might be easier and less expensive.

I thought about that too but I think the riser would be way better and she wouldn't have to stress the faux drawers not looking right.

It’s the thumbnails that draw me in. Whoever creates them does a phenomenal job. The thumbnail draws you in but not only that, you have the entertaining videos to back them up. Very entertaining video. Keep them coming.
Raven definitely dispute the money for the contractor to get your money back. And like chef Tony said never pay beforehand! He was definitely unprofessional
If he have a facebook page or a website call his ass out that he stole your money and or scammed you.

Measure the trim, let Home Depot cut it in house, nail it & finish it yourself. Have your lawyer send a demand letter and/ or file a small claims court case to get your money back. Leave a bad review as well.

I like the wood countertop vs getting matching the counters. Could they put a grey stain/wash on it? That might be an option

Cherish your Mom & Dad; wonderful parents. I would definitely sand and re-stain the laundry room counter. The wood looks so much nicer than stone and adds dimension to the room. Everything is beautiful!

I COMPLETELY understand what you don't like about the new wood countertop, but I have to say - it still looks really good. I have an aversion to matchy-matchy stuff anyway so maybe that's why I don't mind the contrast.

Instead of getting risers for under the washer and dryer maybe they can add a little wooden “face plate” the same color as the cabinets and cover the gap instead

I think beyond the gap, she may be having a tiny issue with the amount of low bending. Her machines are literally on the ground. The risers are needed especially because she's tall.

Your mom is right (love her! More video from Toni!) So I learned from People’s court pay half or cost of supplies (whatever’s cheaper) then pay the rest or labor after the work is done. Also big thing to note in contract, the agreed upon timeline along with “time is of the essence.”

2 things: what about custom drawers for the washer/dryer spaces instead of pedestals?
Also what about a printed vinyl decal that has the wood grain/tones you’re going for? A local print/graphics shop could print the piece and would likely have an installer to do it.
my laundry room was missing something and until i read this comment i couldn't put my finger on it. it never occurred to me to use a decal. thanks for the idea.
Hey Raven I have a great idea for your dryer sheets! Get a cute reusable tissue box instead of keeping the random cardboard boxes. It’ll be easier to dispense and aesthetically pleasing. 🤎

I saw someone use a marble (or marble looking) rectangular box with a marble top for their dryer sheets. It was so pretty. They kept it on a lazy Susan with their detergent jars and one of those plants like the ones Raven took down from the top shelves.

If the washer and dryer don't absolutely need the lifts maybe you could put in some custom drawers like clear or that shattered glass clear
Hubs and I just bought a new home and I’m glad I’ve followed your journey because I have much better expectations of how long it’s going to take to furnish and decorate or home. Ours is only 3500sqft though!

The contractor watched a few UA-cam videos and thought that he was a professional craftsman. Then he discovered that he was out of his league so he decided not to come back. SMH 🤦🏾♀️

Raven maybe take a look at some high end antique stores. You just might come across something you really love. Furniture or whatever. And there always is more than one store.

Personally I would leave it down and just see if a Grayish tone can lightly be glazed into the wood to give it the same tone as your floor. Love your channel and your radiant vibe.🌹🌹💕💕

Yes. Bamboo/wood tone hangers would give the esthetic also and functionality. Even when they’re empty they will still look appealing. I got slight anxiety when she hung that white on that hanger😅

I think you should order that couch for your office it would look so beautiful. Oh and .... I need Chef Tony to help me with the builders I have had .... sooo frustrating we end up pulling what they have done and redoing everything ourselves. I feel your pain.
My 2 cents: My suggestion for the space above the washer dryer, is to have them make a pull out board/table on both sides (or just one side and make the other a drawer or something)

May I suggest you get filler a sanding block and plant trim and don't yourself! You can do it! Go to Ikea and get those cube woven baskets for the cubbies and possible a cushion for the bench part and finite!

Absolutely not! I agree 100% - some of these so called workers claim they can do the job but when they realize they are screwing up they disappear! It is so hard to find someone who is actually reliable and experienced. I had to tell one guy to leave my house because he was making a total mess! I do know a little about home improvement- my Dad taught me well! So I can tell immediately if they have a clue about what they’re doing! And I’m watching everything they do!!

I think a good option for the wood countertop would be to sand it and bleach the wood
Maybe you can find two baskets that can fit in the spaces under the wooden counter. You could use it for extra storage so that you don't have to do another build.
I think this is a realistic take on what happens when using contractors and probably helping alot of people. I really hope everything comes together.
The costs are just adding up and it’s like wow this is the reality of owning a home and making it what you want. I am learning so much. & I’m over here upset for you like dang can’t one thing go right lol. The only things that went well in this video are the things you and your family DIY’d! Hey! May I suggest you get a really good high quality desk chair and getting it re-upholstered by a seamstress/tailor with fabric you like and get a cute white seat pillow..ive seen some cute ones shaped like flowers gamers use. 😊
