I remember watching Over the Garden Wall. I don't remember it well but I remember liking it. I initially didn't wanna see it. But after finding out that Elijah Wood was in it as Wirt, I really wanted to see it. But only for him. As I really loved him in the movie Happy Feet. I used to watch that film a lot as a kid. What I think is interesting is that she reveals the roots of the Beast extend further than what we see. She could turn people into animals, had magic items, and she worked for him.
Beatrice definitely thought she was just distracting her by opening the window lmao. She had no clue it'd ice her like that, thinking she was just being dramatic about the night air.
Because back in the day before we knew about germs many people believed in "bad air" or Miasma, and many people believed that the night air was bad and would make you sick.
It's because of the old theory of “Miasma”, the idea that “Bad air” in itself was what carried diseases with it, though in this case and based on her final words, we can asume that she actually was so rotten to the core, that “Good/Fresh air” was enough to kill her
They should’ve done the Auntie Whispers episode before we finally got meet Adelaide, just seems like a waste to warn them when they already encountered her
Bruh what was the point of her character? Why is fresh night air her weakness? And why did she want a child servant? How is she connected to the beast? What is her relationship like with aunty whispers?
As this show takes many inspiration of religion literature, in my opinion, Adelaide is someone that basically worships the devil and his image. She was a wicked women for being entitled in wanting children to do all her dirty work as a slave on command. Since she wanted to be a follower of the beast (Satan), she got her own dose of karma as worshipping the beast will have severe consequences.

I totally agree. But that’s what we get with a mini series; quality, not quantity.

I really really enjoyed Adelaide as a villain, she was so ominous, wish she had more than a couple minutes of screen time.
The only thing wrong with Over the Garden Wall is how incredibly rushed it clearly was. Wish the creators were given more time in general.
It's still interesting how they used the miasma theory to kill her off by having it work as fresh air instead of bad air
Miasma was more about evening air, I think.
