This is fantastic. I'm extremely new to sewing (just started with hand sewing felt plushies for practice) and this will really help when I get confident enough to try Jotaro Kujo's coat.
I have the men's 7374 version of this jacket. The pattern I have uses two slightly different sizes sewn together for the collar, but the alignment circles only align the raw edges, which offsets the sewn edges. How did you sew the rear collar? Did you align the raw edges or the outer edge?
How much off is the alignment of the collar? Sometimes you can hide things within seam allowances or people won't notice if it's a _little_ off, so long as you it can lie flat. Sorry, it's been four years since I sewed this so my memory of each step is very fuzzy.
@@EldarLuin No problem. It's off only by about 1/8", so it's not going to make a huge difference I think. I triple checked the patterns and instructions. I'm going to try lining up the outer edge.
@@HaxxonHax You may be able to do a smaller seam allowance on that one part and not notice any difference in the final product. Good luck and tell me how it goes!
@@EldarLuin I tried it a few ways. Lining up both sides it feels like it's keeping the collar down (the underside is the shorter part) only slightly more than without it. To make it easier (harder, technically) on me, I decided to remove the collar and integrate a hood instead.
@@HaxxonHax Ah, well sometimes we have to challenge ourselves to get things to look how we want them, and be a back-up plan if something isn't going well. I honestly haven't made the hood for this yet, though I do have the fabric for it. I'm sure your coat will look just fine!
This is titled wrong, pattern number isn’t m7374, that is the male version, you are using m7644 female version. It’s also not assassins creed that pattern is m7646
I titled it M374 because M7644 is now retired and there is very little difference between the patterns, but I'll change that back if you wish. And yes, the pattern M7644 I made it into the Assassin Creed coat from Syndicate for Jacob Frye, therefore, it's Assassin's Creed. I made the whole Jacob Frye cosplay outfit, minus the top hat; that's why they're in the Assassin's Creed Playlist together.

I'm glad this helps! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Hello are you able to offer some assistance on the collar of this please I’m so frustrated with this coat?
Yes, absolutely. What troubles are you having with it? It's been a couple of years since I sewed it, but I can take a look at the instructions. :)
How much fabric did you use? Sorry I probably missed it in the video lol
How do you hide the interfacing? The pattern instructions seemed to not try very hard to hide the white interfacing and it is making my coat look odd.
I used black interfacing. :)
Ocarina of Thyme Hmm I have made quite the error 😂😅 Do you think I could I fold the fabric over and thinly sew the border so no raw edges are left?
@@estellelass7292 Oh probably. I don't see why not!
