Hi Carl, I did think about trying some macro that morning, but ultimately I thought I'd take close ups and intimate scenes instead. I might have to wait until spring again before I can try my macro lens on small critters and all the lovely young growth sprouting on the forest floor 🙂 Have a good week! 👍
A lovely clip, Valerie. Some gorgeous images too. Water reflections are always wonderful, and I think the gum trees are great in these circumstances although my favourite was the image around 6:20. The image of the canopy at the start was also beautiful and I wonder: did you blend exposures to get that?
Hi Mick, I was lucky to have some great light break through the trees that morning. So I didn't expect to get those shots with that soft golden light, as it was incredibly foggy and misty only about an hour beforehand! That also made it possible for me to take that canopy image without exposure bracketing or blending. I ETTR and needed to lift shadows only slightly in post, without clipping the highlights. Appreciate your comments Mick - always great to read them 🙂🙏🙏
What an amazing piece! It worked so well and sounds and music were perfectly suited. Very harmonious Val. I loved hearing the bird calls. Definitely different and well executed. I was very happy with your use of captions to communicate with the viewer. My favourite shot is definitely the wooden snake and cropped close for sure. Well done! ❤

Hi Valerie, I really enjoy your videos, and just. subscribed. I'm wondering if you considered a Fuji X-H2S rather than the X-H2 for several reasons, which I think may be relevant in terms of your bird photography, etc. 1) A stickier focus for unpredictable, fast moving birds 2) Possibly better low ligh/high ISO photography due to the smaller sensor 3) smaller files, especially Raw files, even lossless compressed 4) no visible loss in detail with the smaller sensor as I've seen comparisons of files from both cameras at 100% and more, and you'd have to really pixel peep to see the difference. I have two 2 year old and two 5 year old grandchildren, and they're not quite as quick or unpredictable as birds, but come close at times, and I'm really going crazy trying to decide between the X-H2 and the X-H2S, with reliable autofocus and good low light indoor environments performance being my 2 main criteria. Thank you for any personal insights!
Hi Paula, I'm glad you found my channel and thanks for your comments 🙏🙏🙂 I understand your predicament - I also had a bit of a struggle in deciding which camera to buy! I found it particularly hard because as you know, I love both landscape and wildlife photography. You're right, the XH2S is superior to the XH2 in terms of all the things that are important in ensuring that you don't miss THAT shot - whether it's a skittish little robin or your lovely grandkids running circles around you 😄 The much better AF performance (and more so since the recent firmware update), faster frame rates, and ISO and video performance are all pros. But at the same time, I was really drawn to the higher resolution sensor in the XH2, mainly because I do print my photos (and want to be able to produce large, decent resolution prints) and I do usually crop in with my bird photos. So for me, I was willing to live with a 60-80% hit rate for bird/wildlife photography and gain higher resolution images. The downside has definitely been the ISO performance, but the details captured are wonderful. I guess you'll need to decide what you'll use the camera mostly for, and what matters more to you. It's not easy, and a list of pros vs cons might be the way to go! But I think the AF on the XH2 can handle your grandkids well, just don't give them too much sugar beforehand 😉 Good luck and let me know how you go! 👍
@@ValerieMisaPhotography Thank you very much Valerie for your detailed recommendations. I did get my X-H2, and used it a few days ago with 2 of our grandkids.
